Rotavirus vaccine effectiveness against the risk of hospitalization and the impact of public expense for the vaccine on a regional rotavirus gastroenteritis epidemic in Japan.
In conclusion, the public expense for the RV vaccine increased the vaccination coverage, which, in combination with high vaccine effectiveness, led to a decrease in the number of hospitalized children during a regional RV gastroenteritis epidemic.
