In conclusion, data from both in vitro (primary hepatocytes) and in vivo (feeding trial) showed that downregulated foxo1 in turbot could not result in significant depression of gluconeogenesis and activation of glycolysis. This could be one of the reasons why intake of high level of carbohydrate resulted in prolonged hyperglycemia in turbot.
