Lifestyle, anthropometric, socio-demographic and perinatal correlates of childhood hypertension: The Healthy Growth Study

ConclusionsChildren not born large for their gestational age, with low MVPA, low SES, being overweight, or obese and with family history of hypertension, have higher risk of childhood hypertension. Future studies should confirm the present findings so that the identified correlates of childhood hypertension can be used by public health initiatives for early detection and management of this major public health problem, prioritizing children and families at the highest possible risk for hypertension.
