Mediastinal Myeloid Sarcoma with TP53 Mutation Preceding Acute Myeloid Leukemia with a PICALM-MLLT10 Fusion Gene.

CONCLUSION: MS with a mediastinal localization is rare and often misdiagnosed as malignant lymphoma. Acute leukemia harboring a PICALM-MLLT10 fusion gene is characterized by a mixed T cell and myeloid phenotype. The rearrangement is a rare recurrent translocation associated with specific clinical features, as illustrated in this case report. PMID: 30227397 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Authors: Zhang P, Tao H, Yu L, Zhou L, Zhu C Abstract Injectable implants with the ability to form in situ are one of the most promising carriers for the delivery of chemotherapeutic drugs to tumor sites. We have reported a novel injectable in situ-forming implant system composed of n-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate (NBCA), ethyl oleate, along with the sol-gel phase transition. The chemotherapeutic drug-loaded injectable NBCA ethyl oleate implant (INEI) exhibited excellent therapeutic efficacy for local chemotherapy. Herein, we utilize this INEI to carry N, N'-(Sulfonyldi-4,1-phenylene)bis(2-chloroacetamide) (TE-C-5003), whi...

Authors: Akhter MH, Kumar S, Nomani S Abstract Objective: In vitro, optimization, characterization and cytotoxic studies of NAR NPs to against pancreatic cancer.Method: The sonication tailored NARG loaded poly (lactide-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) nanoparticle (NPs) was fabricated for potential cytotoxic effect against pancreatic cancer. NARG NPs were prepared by emulsion-diffusion evaporation technique applying Box Behnken experimental design based on 3-level and 3-factors. The effect of independent variables surfactant concentration (X1), polymer concentration (X2) and sonication time (X3) were studied on responses p...

Conclusions: Although 3D printed PSTs help to avoid the misplacement of PAs in revision deformity correction surgeries with sublaminar wires in situ, the mean number of misplaced screws per patient using this technique was found to be statistically insignificant when compared with the freehand technique in this study. Conclusions: Clinical symptoms and spinal fusion efficiency were not significantly different between CBT and PS except for postoperative improvement in low back pain. The treatment effect on postoperative low back pain was smaller for CBT than for PS. PMID: 32213798 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Conclusions: In this study, the SUV of 99mTc-MDP was successfully determined using SPECT/CT. This research provides an approach that could potentially aid in the clinical quantification of radionuclide uptake in normal vertebrae for the management of breast cancer patients. Conclusion and Perspectives Being exquisitely regulated by “writers,” “erasers,” and “readers,” additional repelled proteins or miRNAs, m6A modification relates to nearly any step of mRNA metabolism, as well as ncRNA processing and circRNA translation. There is compelling evidence suggesting that m6A modification is especially critical in a variety of pathologic and physiologic immune responses including T cell homeostasis and differentiation, inflammation, and type I interferon production. Further results have indicated that aberrancies of interferon and Th17 frequencies in systemic lu...

Conclusions: PGC1β regulates breast cancer tumor growth and metastasis by SREBP1-mediated HKDC1 expression. This provides a novel therapeutic strategy through targeting the PGC1β/HKDC1 signaling pathway for breast cancer treatment. Introduction Breast cancer is a very common cancer with significant premature mortality in women. Around 12% of women in USA will have chance to be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetimes (1, 2). The development of breast cancer is regulated by many factors, and even as average survival rates have increased significantly as a result of many advanced treatments, the ...

Markus Hartl* and Rainer Schneider Center of Molecular Biosciences (CMBI), Institute of Biochemistry, University of Innsbruck, Innsbruck, Austria The neuronal proteins GAP43 (neuromodulin), MARCKS, and BASP1 are highly expressed in the growth cones of nerve cells where they are involved in signal transmission and cytoskeleton organization. Although their primary structures are unrelated, these signaling proteins share several structural properties like fatty acid modification, and the presence of cationic effector domains. GAP43, MARCKS, and BASP1 bind to cell membrane phospholipids, a process reversibly regulate...

In conclusion, the high structural diversity of these compounds pinpoints the significant range of inhibition strategies that can be conceived to target the class I methyltransferases. Although the structural details of the various members of this family are unique, the success stories of drug design for several enzymes belonging to this family portends the likely achievement of discovering potent and selective inhibitors of METTL3/METTL14.
