Linda MacIntyre

Chief NurseLinda MacIntyre, PhD, RN is Chief Nurse for the American Red Cross, providing leadership for nurses across five Red Cross lines of business –Biomedical Services, Disaster Services, International Services, Preparedness, Health and Safety Services and Service to the Armed Forces. Dr. MacIntyre works with the National Nursing Committee and senior leaders to provide vision, direction and support related to nursing and health in meeting the mission of the Red Cross. She serves on the Institute of Medicine Forum on Medical and Public Health Preparedness for Catastrophic Events, is a member of the Federal Nursing Service Council and serves on the Editorial Board for the American Journal of Nursing.  Dr. MacIntyre has participated in community coalitions, was a member of the Medical Reserve Corps Steering Committee in Kansas City and worked closely with the Kansas City Public Health Department to improve disaster response in the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area. She was the director of community health and youth for the Red Cross Kansas City Region where she oversaw an Influenza vaccination program that served an average of 12,000 individuals annually.  Other program responsibilities included HIV/AIDS education for children and adults, family caregiving, health screening programs, academic service learning and youth education programs.
