Altered Ataxia-Telangiectasia Mutated Gene as a cause of endometriosis-associated ovarian clear cell carcinoma, novel pathogenic variant

Endometriosis is a disease characterized by ectopic localization of the endometrial gland and stroma, most commonly seen in the ovary, an estrogen-dependent disease. Some cancer driver genes were mutated in 26% of endometriotic lesions. Ovarian clear cell carcinoma accounts for approximately 40-50% of endometriosis-associated ovarian cancers. It is often seen in the perimenopausal period between 40 and 50. Genetic mutations in the etiopathogenesis of clear cell carcinoma have been seen as a prominent cause in recent years.
