Prevalence and clinical characteristics of diabetic cardiomyopathy in patients with acute heart failure

Diabetic cardiomyopathy refers to cases of diabetes mellitus (DM) complicated by cardiac dysfunction in the absence of cardiovascular disease and hypertension. Its epidemiology remains unclear due to the high rate of coexistence between DM and hypertension. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the prevalence and clinical characteristics of diabetic cardiomyopathy among patients with acute heart failure (HF).
