H - 03 Modifiable Risk Factors Associated with Cognitive Decline in Hispanic Elders: a Literature Review
CONCLUSIONS: The literature on modifiable risk factors linked to cognitive decline in Hispanics paralleled similar literature on other ethnic groups. For Hispanics and other racial/ethnic minorities, factors like low educational level and low SES (closely related to cognitive impairment) warrant modification at local, state, and national levels. All factors identified represent targets of intervention which, long-term, will likely be related to increased duration and quality of life, and reduced medical costs. Limitations of the present study include scarce empirical studies on the topic, as well as lack of delineation of regional and subgroup differences among Hispanic populations.PMID:37807571 | DOI:10.1093/arclin/acad067.321
