Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) as a Bridge to Liver Transplantation: Experience From the Victorian Liver Transplant Unit
There are>250 liver transplants (LT) performed annually in Australia. Given the prohibitive risk of cardiac surgery in patients with end-stage liver disease, severe aortic stenosis (AS) has traditionally been a contraindication for LT. We sought to evaluate the feasibility of performing TAVI as a bridge to LT to facilitate LT eligibility.
