A Potential Therapeutic Approach According to Traditional Thai Medicine Theory for Post-COVID-19 Syndrome Treatment: An Observational Retrospective Clinical Study
CONCLUSIONS: The TTM clinical practice guideline for treating post-COVID-19 syndrome effectively improved the overall physical health capacity and symptoms associated with post-COVID-19 syndrome. Therefore, the implementation of this guideline, together with other approaches, could strengthen the treatment for post-COVID-19 to be more effective.PMID:38518168 (Source: Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine)

Prevalence and Genetic Diversity of Simian Malaria in Wild Macaque Populations Across Thailand: Implications for Human Health
This study aims to address several research questions, including the prevalence and distribution of simian malaria in these two Thai wild macaque species, variations in infection between different macaque species and between M. fascicularis subspecies, and the genetic composition of these pathogens. Blood samples were collected from 82 M. mulatta and 690 M. fascicularis across 15 locations in Thailand, as well as two locations in Vietnam and Myanmar. We employed quantitative real-time PCR targeting the Plasmodium genus-specific 18S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) gene to detect malaria infection, with a limit of detection set at 1,21...

IJERPH, Vol. 21, Pages 387: Neighbourhood Walkability and Physical Activity during the COVID-19 Pandemic
This study investigated whether living in a walkable neighbourhood could mitigate the adverse effects of the lockdown and closure of public open spaces during the COVID-19 pandemic on physical activity among adults in Bangkok, Thailand. We conducted a telephone survey with 579 respondents and collected information on their physical activity, access to green open spaces, neighbourhood walkability, and socioeconomic characteristics during the pandemic. Our study indicates that living in a walkable neighbourhood is associated with a higher likelihood of engaging in sufficient physical activity during the pandemic. Furthermore...

Lack of Association of TLR1 and TLR5 Coding Variants with Mortality in a Large Multicenter Cohort of Melioidosis Patients
The objective of this study was to externally validate the associations of rs76600635 and rs5744168 with bacteremia and mortality in a large multicenter cohort of melioidosis patients. We genotyped rs76600635 and rs5744168 in 1,338 melioidosis patients enrolled in a prospective parent cohort study conducted at nine hospitals in northeastern Thailand. The genotype frequencies of rs76600635 did not differ by bacteremia status (P = 0.27) or 28-day mortality (P = 0.84). The genotype frequencies of rs5744168 did not differ by either bacteremia status (P = 0.46) or 28-day mortality (P = 0.10). Assuming a dominant genetic model, ...
