A conjoint experiment of three placebo rectal products used with receptive anal sex: results from MTN-035
CONCLUSIONS: Choice in next-generation PrEP products is highly desired by MSM and transgender people, as no one-size-fits-all approach satisfies all the preferences. MTN-035 participants weighed product features differently, recognizing the need for diverse, behaviourally congruent biomedical options that fit the needs of intended end-users.PMID:38494656 | PMC:PMC10945032 | DOI:10.1002/jia2.26219 (Source: Journal of the International AIDS Society)

Secondhand smoke prevention through the perceptions of pregnant women with smoking family members: a Thailand study
CONCLUSION: The findings provide insights into second-hand smoke prevention from the perception of pregnant women with smoking family members. Healthcare professionals need to design interventions tailored to pregnant women's needs and involve smoking family members. It is necessary to develop and incorporate clinical guidelines into standard prenatal care to support healthcare personnel in identifying, assessing, educating, and mitigating the issue of second-hand smoking exposure.PMID:38498815 | PMC:PMC10949832 | DOI:10.1080/17482631.2024.2326109 (Source: International Journal of Qualitative Studies on Health and Well-being)

Modelling the Public Health Burden of Herpes Zoster and the Impact of Adjuvanted Recombinant Zoster Vaccine in Five Selected Countries in Southeast Asia
CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrated that there is substantial HZ disease burden in older adults for the five selected countries in Southeast Asia, negatively impacting national healthcare systems. Introducing RZV could potentially reduce this burden. A graphical abstract is available with this article.PMID:38493411 | DOI:10.1007/s40121-024-00945-y (Source: Herpes)

Effect of online infographics for enhancing health literacy among patients with type 2 diabetes in primary care unit during the COVID-19 pandemic: a randomized controlled trial
CONCLUSIONS: Novel online infographics and pamphlets did not significantly differ in achieving adequate HL among patients with type 2 DM who should receive health education about disease control and complication prevention. However, both interventions can increase and maintain HL levels. Online educational media can be appropriate during the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, further larger-scale studies should be performed to examine the impact of other DM educational media on HL promotion.TRIAL REGISTRATION: The Thai Clinical Trials Registry (TCTR) with registry ID TCTR20230425001 (date of registration 25/04/2023).PMID:384...
