CONCLUSION: Recent literature debates three main issues: 1) developing models for different combinations of symptoms that reliably distinguish between pre- and postseptal cellulitis; 2) selection of appropriate cross-sectional imaging (MRI vs. CT); and 3) indications for surgery.
