GSE94725 Transcriptome profile of MafB-cKO Sertoli cells. [2]
We examined the transcriptome profile of MafB-cKO Sertoli cells during the first spermatogenic wave. Results of the down-regulated genes revealed that some genes are direct targets of MAFB since the presence of MARE sites in their promoters. Thus, they are candidates of maintaining MAFB function in sertoli cells. (Source: GEO: Gene Expression Omnibus)

Coexisting ovarian serous cystadenoma with fibroma: A very unusual combination
J Cancer Res Ther. 2023 Jul-Sep;19(5):1474-1476. doi: 10.4103/jcrt.jcrt_2319_21.ABSTRACTSurface epithelial neoplasms are the most common ovarian tumors, constituting around 60% of all ovarian malignancies. They are classified as benign, borderline, and malignant. Ovarian cystadenomas are common benign epithelial neoplasms which carry an excellent prognosis. Ovarian thecoma-fibroma groups are uncommon sex cord-stromal neoplasms, constituting 1.0%-4.0% of all ovarian tumors. Most of them are benign and often found in postmenopausal patients. Combination tumors in the ovary are known. The most common combination is mucinous c...

Imaging in gynecological disease: clinical and ultrasound characteristics of recurrent ovarian stromal cell tumors
CONCLUSIONS: Some granulosa cell and Sertoli-Leydig cell recurrences manifest typical ultrasound patterns. However, some were described as unilocular cysts. Unilocular cysts are usually classified as benign, but in patients in follow-up for a granulosa cell tumor or Sertoli-Leydig cell tumor, they should be considered suspicious of recurrence. Study on the changes of LHR, FSHR and AR with the development of testis cells in Hu sheep
Anim Reprod Sci. 2023 Jul 28;256:107306. doi: 10.1016/j.anireprosci.2023.107306. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe process of testis development in mammals is accompanied by the proliferation and maturation of Sertoli, Leydig and germ cells. Spermatogenesis depends on hormone regulation, which must bind to a receptor to exert its biological effects. The changes in Hu sheep testis cell composition and FSHR, LHR and AR expression during different developmental stages are unclear (newborn, puberty and adulthood). To address this, using single-cell RNA sequencing, we analyzed testis cell composition and hormone receptor expres...

Protective effects of epigallocatechin gallate in the mice induced by chronic scrotal hyperthermia
Tissue Cell. 2023 Jul 13;84:102165. doi: 10.1016/j.tice.2023.102165. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTOne of the most common complications of chronic scrotal hyperthermia (SHT) is a serious disorder in the male reproductive system. The most important factor in the occurrence of these disorders is oxidative stress. Currently, we investigated the effects of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), as a highly potent antioxidant, against cells and tissue disorders in mice affected by chronic SHT. Fifty-six male adult NMRI mice were allocated into seven equal groups. Except the non-treated (Control) group, six other groups were exposed t...

The rare-earth yttrium induces cell apoptosis and autophagy in the male reproductive system through ROS-Ca < sup > 2+ < /sup > -CamkII/Ampk axis
In this study, we investigated the toxic effects of YCl3 on mouse testes and four types of testicular cells, including Sertoli, Leydig, spermatogonial and spermatocyte cells. The results showed that YCl3 exposure causes substantial damage to mouse testes and induces apoptosis and autophagy, but not pyroptosis or necrosis, in testicular cells. Genome-wide gene expression analysis revealed that YCl3 induced significant changes in gene expression, with Ca2+ and mitochondria-related genes being the most significantly altered. Mechanistically, YCl3 exposure induced mitochondrial dysfunction in testicular cells, triggering the o...

Reclassification of two germline DICER1 splicing variants leads to DICER1 syndrome diagnosis
We present two unrelated patients suspected to have DICER1 syndrome. Both females (aged 13 and 15  years) presented with multinodular goiter (thyroid follicular nodular disease) and ovarian tumours. One was diagnosed with an ovarian Sertoli-Leydig cell tumour (SLCT) and the other, with an ovarian juvenile granulosa cell tumour, later reclassified as a retiform variant of SLCT. Genetic screening showed no germline pathogenic variants inDICER1. However, two potentially splicing variants were found,DICER1 c.5365-4A>G and c.5527+3A>G. Also, typical somaticDICER1 RNase IIIb hotspot mutations were detected in the thyroid ...

Protective effects of human amniotic membrane derived mesenchymal stem cells (hAMSCs) secreted factors on mouse spermatogenesis and sperm chromatin condensation following unilateral testicular torsion
Ann Anat. 2023 Mar 25:152084. doi: 10.1016/j.aanat.2023.152084. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTTesticular torsion is considered a urological disorder that requires immediate detorsion surgery. Ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury after testicular torsion detorsion causes of drastic impairment of spermatogenesis and infertility. Cell-free-based approaches seem to be a promising strategy to prevent I/R injury, they have more stable biological properties, and they contain paracrine factors of mesenchymal stem cells. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the protective effects of human amniotic membrane derived mesenchymal ste...
