Large ovarian leiomyoma in young woman.
Abstract Leiomyoma is benign mesenchymal tumor, that frequently occur in uterus but it rarely happens in ovary. Ovarian leiomyomas are seen concomitantly with uterine leiomyoma in about 78% of cases. They often discover incidentally but their most clinical manifestations are abdominal pain and palpable mass. Herein, we reported a large ovarian leiomyoma in a 22-year-old woman with abdominal pain and palpable mass at lower abdominal region. Computed tomography scan revealed large adnexal mass. Microscopic appearance was typical for leiomyoma but because its rarity in ovary the immunohistochemical staining w...

Signet ring stromal cell tumor revisited and related signet ring cell lesions of the ovary
Summary: In this article, we revisit the first reported case of ovarian signet ring stromal cell tumor (SRSCT) using modern immunohistochemical techniques and compare it to a case of signet ring cell transformation of lutein cells in an ovarian stromal tumor having components of luteinized thecoma and sclerosing stromal tumor. We introduce a new classification of signet ring stromal cell lesions of the ovary that serves as a framework to distinguish pathogenetically distinct ovarian stromal lesions that may be confused with cases of true SRSCT. The SRSCT in our first case most likely arose directly from the ovarian stroma ...

Extragonadal sclerosing stromal tumor: A rare case report
We report a case of extragonadal sclerosing stromal tumor in a 45‐year‐old woman who presented with menstrual irregularity and vague pelvic pain. Imaging studies showed a well‐defined mass between the posterior wall of the bladder and uterus, suspected of being a pedunculated leiomyoma. The histopathological and immunohistochemical study was consistent with sclerosing stromal tumor. No ovarian tissue was found on representative sectioning. This is the first case of sclerosing stromal tumor in an extragonadal location. (Source: Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Research)

Clinicopathological spectrum of ovarian sex cord-stromal tumors; 20 years¿ retrospective study in a developing country
Conclusions: Sex cord stromal tumors are uncommon ovarian tumors in Pakistani population, with wide age range and diverse histological types having good prognosis. Immunohistochemical markers overlap with epithelial tumors so there is need to distinguish these two. (Source: Journal of Ovarian Research)

Youngest Reported Patient Presenting with an Androgen Producing Sclerosing Stromal Ovarian Tumor
Sclerosing stromal tumors are extremely rare sex cord stromal tumors of the ovary, with approximately 100 cases reported since first described in 1973. These tumors present predominantly in the 2nd and 3rd decades of life, typically present with pelvic/abdominal pain and tenderness, mass, and/or abnormal menses, and with hormonal activity reported predominantly in postmenarchal females. Only 5 cases of these tumors have been reported in premenarchal girls, with age ranging from 7 months to 12 years. (Source: Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology)

Virilizing Sclerosing-Stromal Tumor of the Ovary in a Young Woman With McCune Albright Syndrome: Clinical, Pathological, and Immunohistochemical Studies.
Conclusion:This observation extends the clinical spectrum of ovarian pathology of women with MAS. However, the mechanisms causing this ovarian tumor remain unclear, even if the gsp oncogene has been implicated in the pathogenesis of some gonadal tumors.
