Youth mental health and nicotine vape use: The moderating role of rural-urban/suburban school environments
CONCLUSIONS: Although differences in mental health were not shown based on rural versus urban/suburban school environments alone, findings showed that the relationship between nicotine vape use and mental health was stronger for youth attending high school in rural areas. Additional research is needed to understand the underlying social and environmental mechanisms that exacerbate this relationship. Future interventions might consider how to support and improve the mental health of rural nicotine vapers to better achieve health equity across different school environments.PMID:37607466 | DOI:10.1016/j.addbeh.2023.107830

Participants made choices about attention, appeal, harm, buying, and quitting intentions. Social media ...

Methods used to quit vaping among adolescents and associations with perceived risk, addiction, and socio-economic status
Addict Behav. 2023 Aug 16;147:107835. doi: 10.1016/j.addbeh.2023.107835. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTDespite widespread evidence suggesting that e-cigarettes are harmful to youth, the prevalence of adolescent vaping continues to rise. The first aim of this cross-sectional study was to determine which methods adolescents have previously used to quit vaping and their interest in using various methods to quit vaping in the future. The second aim was to investigate the associations between vaping-related characteristics and (1) motivation to quit vaping and (2) previous use of pharmacological methods to quit vaping or previo...

Neurological Effects of Combining Low Toxic Dose of Tramadol and Nicotine: An Animal Model Evidence of Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress
In conclusion, the combination of tramadol and nicotine is less harmful than expected. However, serious withdrawal effects can occur as a result of high systemic serotonin effects.PMID:37593523 | PMC:PMC10432102 | DOI:10.1155/2023/1953356
