Integrating neurology and pharmacy through telemedicine: A novel care model
Teleneurology had been best studied in acute stroke care, but the Coronavirus (COVID)-19 pandemic has highlighted applicability in outpatient practice. Telepharmacy is a convenient method for pharmacists to provide medication management to enhance care. Studies in the outpatient space suggest non-inferiority of teleneurology to increase access to specialized care for patients in rural locations. The role of telemedicine based interdisciplinary collaborations in a metropolitan and under-resourced setting has not been explored.

Clinical features and outcome of stroke with COVID-19. COVID-19 Stroke Study Group (CSSG), India
Conclusions: CoVS is associated with higher severity, poor outcome, and increased mortality. Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection and baseline stroke severity are independent predictors of mortality.

Using Clinical and Echocardiographic Characteristics to Characterize the Risk of Ischemic Stroke in Patients with COVID-19
Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) caused by infection with SARS-CoV-2 has been associated with a variety of systemic complications resulting in substantial morbidity and mortality.1 Early case series identified an elevated incidence of ischemic stroke in patients with COVID-19.2-4 In retrospective studies, ischemic stroke has been identified in 0.5-5.8% of patients hospitalized with COVID-19.5-10 Infection with COVID-19 has been independently associated with acute ischemic stroke compared with control subjects and the severity of COVID-19 syndrome correlates with risk acute stroke.

Mechanical Thrombectomy Outcomes in COVID-19 Patients With Acute Ischemic Stroke: A Narrative Review
Conclusions: The effect of COVID-19 on the long-term prognosis of stroke patients after thrombectomy is yet to be determined. The accumulating evidence from current studies indicates a negative impact of COVID-19 on outcomes in acute ischemic stroke patients who receive MT, irrespective of timely, successful angiographic recanalization. This review may help alert clinicians of some of the COVID-19-specific postthrombectomy challenges.

COVID-19 Infection and Recurrent Stroke in Young Patients With Protein S Deficiency: A Case Report
Conclusions: SARS-CoV-2 infection potentializes the prothrombotic effect and vascular inflammation by accentuating protein S deficit. The place of steroids seems justifiable in the presence of symptoms of vasculitis in brain imaging.

Observations in a Virtual Telephone and WhatsApp Video-Enabled Neurology Clinic During Lockdown in Varanasi, India & #8211; A Preliminary Report
Conclusion: TNCO seems to be as effective as in-person OPD in the management of neurological disorders. During the lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, avoiding physical visits through TNCO may reduce the spread of the virus. Parallel tele-OPD with routine OPD is a good option in the future.

Hypercoagulability of COVID-19 and Neurological Complications: A Review
The SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), has resulted in millions of worldwide deaths. When the SARS-CoV-2 virus emerged from Wuhan, China in December 2019, reports of patients with COVID-19 revealed that hospitalized patients had acute changes in mental status, cognition, and encephalopathy. Neurologic complications can be a consequence from overall severity of the systemic infection, direct viral invasion of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the central nervous system, and possible immune mediated mechanisms.

Multifocal and Microvascular Involvement in Ischemic Stroke During COVID-19: A Cohort Study With Comparison With Non-COVID-19 Stroke
