Prediction of stress-related gastrointestinal bleeding in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage using caudate Hounsfield unit value in ASPECT score
ConclusionAmong aSAH patients, lower right caudate HU values indicated a higher risk of developing SRGB. Our findings provide further evidence for the relationship between the gastrointestinal system and the brain.

Thematic Analysis of Psychosocial Stressors and Adaptive Coping Strategies Among Informal Caregivers of Patients Surviving ICU Admission for Coma
ConclusionsIn response to substantial stressors, family caregivers of patients with SABI attempted to enact various psychological and behavioral coping strategies. They described avoidance and distraction as less helpful than other coping strategies but had difficulty engaging in alternative strategies because of their emotional distress. These findings can directly inform the development of additional resources to mitigate the long-term impact of acute psychological distress among this caregiver population.

Association between baseline pulse pressure and hospital mortality in non-traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage patients: a retrospective cohort study
ConclusionFor patients with non-traumatic SAH, the association between baseline PP and risk of hospital mortality was non-linear, with an inflection point at 60 mmHg and a minimal risk at 57 to 68 mmHg (Q2) of baseline PP level.

In this study, we aimed to clarify the association between aspirin and SAH in the general population. The UK Biobank is a prospective population-based cohort study. Sex, age, smoking, alcohol, medication use, hypertension, blood pressure, ischaemic heart disease and stroke were recorded at baseline assessments. Individualized Thresholds of Hypoxemia and Hyperoxemia and their Effect on Outcome in Acute Brain Injured Patients: A Secondary Analysis of the ENIO Study
ConclusionsIn patients with ABI, hypoxemia and mild/moderate hyperoxemia were relatively frequent. Hypoxemia and hyperoxemia during ICU stay may influence in-hospital mortality. However, the small number of oxygen values collected represents a major limitation of the study.

The effects of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage on cerebral vessel diameter and flow velocity
Transcranial Doppler flow velocity is used to monitor for cerebral vasospasm following aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. Generally, blood flow velocities appear inversely related to the square of vessel diameter representing local fluid dynamics. However, studies of flow velocity-diameter relationships are few, and may identify vessels for which diameter changes are better correlated with Doppler velocity. We therefore studied a large retrospective cohort with concurrent transcranial Doppler velocities and angiographic vessel diameters.
