This study reviews the modern and automated methods such as artificial intelligence (AI)-based. Impact of intraoperative neurologic deficits in carotid endarterectomy under regional anesthesia.
Conclusions. Neurologic deficits during carotid clamping are a predictor of perioperative stroke. Body mass index > 30 kg/m2, a lower degree of ipsilateral stenosis, and a higher degree of contralateral stenosis are independent predictors of neurologic deficits and, therefore, might play a role in the prevention of procedure-related stroke.

Left ventricular thrombus after ST segment elevation myocardial infarction: a single-centre observational study.
CONCLUSIONS: The incidence of LV thrombus following STEMI was low and it was associated with a low rate of stroke and systemic embolism but high mortality. Randomised studies are needed to evaluate the efficacy of NOAC's in this context.

Prevalence and prognostic impact of nonischemic late gadolinium enhancement in stress cardiac magnetic resonance
Conclusion
NI-LGE can be detected in 11% of patients during stress-CMR providing a diagnosis of nonischemic cardiac disease. Patients with NI-LGE have worse prognosis than those with no-LGE.

Validation of the cardiovascular risk model NORRISK 2 in South Asians and people with diabetes.
Conclusions. The NORRISK 2-SADia model improved predictions of CVD substantially in South Asians, whose risks were underestimated by the NORRISK 2 model. The NORRISK 2-SADia model may facilitate more intense preventive measures in this high-risk population.

Potentially fatal complications of systemic air embolism after computed tomography ‐guided transthoracic needle biopsy in lung cancer harboring epithelial growth factor receptor mutation: A case report
Systemic air embolism developed after CT ‐guided TTNB, leading to ST‐elevation, myocardial infarction and acute ischemic stroke. The patient recovered completely without sequelae and was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma harboring activatingEGFR mutation. Treatment with gefitinib showed a response. Percutaneous coronary intervention in the very elderly with NSTE-ACS: the randomized 80+ study.
Conclusion: In the very elderly with NSTE-ACS, we did not find any significant difference in MACCE between invasive and conservative treatment groups at 12-month follow-up, possibly due to small sample size. ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT02126202.

Do patients or their physicians more accurately assess long-term risk associated with hypertension? A population-based study.
Conclusions: Patients were better than their physicians in estimating the average probability of morbidity due to hypertension. Both the patients and their attending physicians had difficulty in estimating the individual patient's risk of complications.
