Platelet Indices and Risk of Death and Cardiovascular Events: Results from a Large Population-Based Cohort Study.

Health-related knowledge on hypertension among the Portuguese population: results from a population-based survey.
CONCLUSIONS: This study provided a quantitative estimate of the gaps in health-related knowledge about hypertension among the general population. Treatment Failure in Patients Receiving Direct Oral Anticoagulants: Clinical Management and Outcomes from a Single-Center Review of 59 Consecutive Patients
In this study, we sought to characterise DOAC treatment failures in our institution, and to rationalise the subsequent anticoagulation strategies in this setting. Assessing patient preferences for switching from warfarin to direct oral anticoagulants
This study assessed patient preference for warfarin or DOAC based on a willingness to pay more for potential DOAC benefits. Current warfarin patients with atrial fibrillation or venous thromboembolism enrolled in the University of Utah Health Thrombosis Service were given a one-time electronic survey that assessed preferences between warfarin and DOACs using scenarios comparing effectiveness, safety, and convenience. Self-rated health and venous thromboembolism among middle-aged women: a population-based cohort study
This study supports previous results with varico se veins and waist circumference as strong predictors of VTE. Poor self-rated health does not seem to be a valid predictor of VTE. Among lifestyle-related parameters, smoking was significantly associated with risk of VTE. We could also confirm the effect of the other already known risk factors.

Pharmacological targeting of coagulation factor XI mitigates the development of experimental atherosclerosis in low-density lipoprotein receptor-deficient mice.
