Massive Epistaxis from Internal Carotid Pseudoaneurysm during Acute Ischemic Stroke in a Patient with Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma.

Radiotherapy Induced Atherosclerosis and Stroke Syndrome (RIASS) Causing Bilateral Vision Loss and Multifocal Strokes. A Case Report and Literature Review (P4.358)
Conclusions: Evidence-based guidelines for the management of asymptomatic and symptomatic RIASS are lacking. We recommend periodic surveillance with carotid duplex scan for early diagnosis and implementation of effective stroke-prevention therapies. ConclusionsEndovascular repair of the MCA aneurysm inclosing those with wide neck and complex are not only safe and feasible, but associated with high long-term functional outcome. Management of Radiation Induced Carotid Stenosis in Head and Neck Cancer.
CONCLUSION: RT in patients with HNSCC holds a significant risk factor of developing carotid artery stenosis and cerebrovascular events. Carotid stenting is preferable mode of treatment for radiation-induced stenosis. A screening program with doppler ultrasonography enables pre-stroke detection of carotid stenosis. This report suggests that bilateral ECA embolization may be safe in acute settings.
