Long-Term Outcomes for Patients With Stroke After Coronary and Valve Surgery
ConclusionsPostoperative stroke often leads to high mortality and poor long-term outcomes. Patients who experienced a severe stroke and underwent neurosurgical procedures also exhibited poor outcomes. Patients and their families should be informed of relatively high mortality and poor long-term outcomes before neurosurgical operation.

Cardiovascular outcomes of vildagliptin in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus after acute coronary syndrome or acute ischemic stroke
ConclusionsAmong patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus after a recent acute coronary syndrome or acute ischemic stroke, treatment with vildagliptin was not associated with increased risks of CV death, non‐fatal myocardial infarction, non‐fatal stroke and hospitalization for HF.

Occupational therapy for cognitive impairment in stroke patients
CONCLUSIONS: The effectiveness of occupational therapy for cognitive impairment poststroke remains unclear. Occupational therapy may result in little to no clinical difference in BADL immediately after intervention and at three and six months' follow-up. Occupational therapy may slightly improve global cognitive performance of a clinically important difference immediately after intervention, likely improves sustained visual attention slightly, and may slightly increase working memory and flexible thinking after intervention. Knowledge of signs and symptoms of heart attack and stroke among Singapore residents.
CONCLUSION: We found a comparable knowledge of stroke and heart attack signs and symptoms in the community to countries within the same economic, educational, and healthcare strata. However older persons, those with lower educational level and those who are unemployed/retired, require more public health education efforts.

Association between gender and stoke recurrence in ischemic stroke patients with high-grade carotid artery stenosis
In conclusion, male gender is associated with increased risk of recurrent ischemic stroke in patients with high-grade ICA stenosis during 5-year follow-up. Further prospective trial to assess whether male gender may benefit from more aggressive vascular risk factors control and treatment strategies for stroke prevention is warranted.
