Unmet Needs for Rehabilitative Management in Common Health-Related Problems Negatively Impact the Quality of Life of Community-Dwelling Stroke Survivors
Conclusions: Unmet rehabilitative needs are prevalent among community-dwelling stroke survivors, and the proportion of unmet needs was high among non-physical domains such as anxiety/depression. The number of unmet needs is an independent negative predictor of HRQoL. Systematic approaches to identify unmet needs and provide appropriate rehabilitative management are required in long-term stroke survivors.

Cognitive recovery in patients with post-stroke subjective cognitive complaints
ConclusionsAlthough post-stroke SCC contributes to persisting objective cognitive deficits, some patients presented cognitive recovery within 1 year after stroke. Patients with a high education level reporting SCC at earlier stage after stroke had poorer cognitive recovery. Male, higher baseline MoCA scores, coffee intake and thalamus lesions appear to independently predict cognitive recovery.

Remote ischemic conditioning (RIC) with exercise (RICE) is safe and feasible for acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients

Predictive value of neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio for ischemic stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation: A meta-analysis
ConclusionThis study shows that high NLR values are associated with a higher risk of stroke in AF patients. The incidence of stroke in AF patients with NLR ≥3 was 1.4 times higher than that with NLR <3 (p < 0.001). NLR may be considered as a complementary risk assessment for CHA2DS2-VASc score, especially for AF patients with CHA2DS2-VASc score <2. NLR may be a potential biomarker for predicting stroke risk in patients with AF.

ConclusionStroke is associated with a high 30-day mortality rate in Northwestern Tanzania. Concerted efforts are warranted in managing patients with stroke, with particular attention to individuals with severe strokes, ECG abnormalities, and swallowing difficulties to reduce early morbidity and mortality.
