Evidence of synergy coordination patterns of upper-limb motor control in stroke patients with mild and moderate impairment
Conclusion: This study concludes that stroke shows more synergy variability compared to the healthy group and the alterations of muscle synergies can be described as a combination of reference synergies by four synergy coordination patterns. These findings deepen the understanding of the underlying neurophysiological mechanisms and possible motor control strategies adopted by the CNS in post-stroke patients.

Prospective Study of Serum Uric Acid Levels and First Stroke Events in Chinese Adults With Hypertension
Conclusion: No significant evidence in the present study indicated that increased SUA levels were associated with the risk of first stroke in the Chinese adults with hypertension. Age played an interactive role in the relationship between HUA and the first stroke event.

Impaired H-Reflex Adaptations Following Slope Walking in Individuals With Post-stroke Hemiparesis
ConclusionSimilar pattern of change in peak propulsive and braking forces with respect to different slopes was observed in both individuals post-stroke and non-impaired individuals, but the magnitude of GRFs were smaller in individuals post-stroke due to the slower walking speed. Our results suggested that impaired modulation of the H-reflex pathway potentially underlies the lack of neuroadaptations in individuals with chronic post-stroke hemiparesis.

Stroke-Related Mortality at Different Altitudes: A 17-Year Nationwide Population-Based Analysis From Ecuador
Conclusion: This is the first epidemiological study that aims to elucidate the association between stroke and altitude using four different elevation ranges. Our findings suggest that living at higher elevations offers a reduction or the risk of dying due to stroke as well as a reduction in the probability of being admitted to the hospital. Nevertheless, this protective factor has a stronger effect between 2,000 and 3,500 m.

Agreement, Reliability, and Concurrent Validity of an Outdoor, Wearable-Based Walk Ratio Assessment in Healthy Adults and Chronic Stroke Survivors
Discussion: The outdoor WR assessment using the GFR35 showed excellent test-retest agreement, reliability and concurrent validity in healthy adults and chronic stroke survivors walking at least 1 m/s. As the WR seems relevant in chronic stroke, future studies should further investigate this parameter.

Prolonged Elevation of Arterial Stiffness Following Peak Aerobic Exercise in Individuals With Chronic Stroke
ConclusionThis was the first study to capture continuous changes in cfPWV following peak aerobic exercise in any clinical population. The present study revealed that cfPWV is elevated for 20 min after peak aerobic exercise in individuals with stroke, which was independent of heart rate. These findings suggest there may be autonomic imbalances in large arteries following peak intensity aerobic exercise in individuals with stroke.
