DISCUSSION: Results are compatible with a moderate protective effect of influenza vaccine on IS appearing early after vaccination. Generation of cardio-protective antibodies after pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine: Early results from a randomised controlled trial
CONCLUSIONS: PPV engenders a long-lasting increase in anti-pneumococcal IgG, and to a lesser extent, IgM titres, as well as a transient increase in anti-OxLDL IgM antibodies. However, there were no detectable changes in surrogate markers of atherosclerosis at the 2-year follow-up. Streptococcus pneumoniae is a common cause of diseases such as community-acquired pneumonia, meningitis, and sepsis across all age groups. In Japan, routine pneumococcal vaccinations are carried out for children aged ≤5 years and older persons aged ≥65 years due to their higher risk of infection. Assessment of pre-specified adverse events following varicella vaccine: A population-based self-controlled risk interval study.
CONCLUSIONS: We detected a small risk of incidental pneumonia associated with varicella vaccine in the 6th week after immunization. There was no increase in the risk of other pre-specified adverse events.
