Use of CHA2DS2-VASc score to predict the risk of ischemic stroke and mortality in patients who underwent coronary artery bypass grafting surgery: a retrospective cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: Ischemic stroke was associated with a higher mortality risk after CABG. Higher CHA2DS2-VASc scores were associated with higher ischemic stroke risk. POAF did not significantly affect the relationship between CHA2DS2-VASc scores and ischemic stroke. Characteristic of drug-related problems and pharmacists ’ interventions in a stroke unit in Thailand
Conclusion DRP in a stroke unit is common. Clinical pharmacists in a stroke unit can effectively reduce and prevent DRPs with the focus on performing medication reconciliation, providing recommendation on dosage adjustment and proper drug selection for stroke patients.

Post-ischemic stroke systemic inflammation: Immunomodulation by progesterone and vitamin D hormone.

Circular RNA hsa_circ_0003574 as a biomarker for prediction and diagnosis of ischemic stroke caused by intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis
Conclusion: We observed that hsa_circRNA_0003574 is upregulated in patients with ICAS-stroke compared with NCs, indicating it may be a potential novel biomarker and therapeutic target for ICAS-stroke. In addition, we analyzed the laboratory results and found that homocysteine and glycosylated hemoglobin were elevated among ICAS-stroke patients. The relationship between hsa_circRNA_0003574 and these parameters requires further investigation.

Effects of PDE4 pathway inhibition in rat experimental stroke.
CONCLUSIONS: Despite increase in infarct size after global inhibition of the PDE4 pathway with rolipram, specific inhibition of the PDE4D isoform had no effect on experimental stroke. These findings support a role for the PDE4 pathway, independent of the PDE4D isoform, in ischemic stroke pathogenesis. This article is open to POST-PUBLICATION REVIEW.
