CONCLUSION: The biomarker-based ABCD score demonstrated improved stroke risk stratification in AF patients with non-gender CHA2DS2-VASc score 0-1. A clinical audit of oral anticoagulant therapy in aged care residents with atrial fibrillation
Conclusion Many residents with non-valvular AF and significant risk of stroke were not receiving oral anticoagulation despite a lack of documented reason for non-prescribing. Non-vitamin K antagonists were widely prescribed but dosing of these agents could still be improved. There remains a need to improve anticoagulant prescribing for aged care residents and optimise stroke prevention in this population.

Delaying clinical events among patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation treated with oral anticoagulants: Insights from the ARISTOPHANES study

Short-term antithrombotic strategies after left atrial appendage occlusion: a systematic review and network meta-analysis
Conclusion: No significant difference was found among patients receiving DAPT, DOACs, and VKA in terms of stroke, DRT, and major bleeding events after LAAO. The SUCRA indicated that DAPT was ranked the worst among all antithrombotic strategies due to the higher risk of stroke, DRT, and major bleeding events, while VKAs were ranked the preferred antithrombotic strategy. However, DOACs are worthy of consideration due to their advantage of convenience.

Efficacy and Safety of Nonvitamin K Oral Anticoagulants in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation and Cancer: A Study-Level Meta-Analysis.
CONCLUSION:  In AF patients with malignancy, NOACs appear at least as effective as VKAs in preventing thrombotic events and reduce intracranial bleeding. Non-vitamin K Oral Anticoagulants and Anti-seizure Medications: A Retrospective Cohort Study
Conclusions: The recurrent stroke rate of NOAC users with potential DDIs was not higher than in those without potential DDIs in this single-institute study. Our results suggest that theoretical interactions between ASMs and NOACs may not be as severe as previously thought in a real-world situation.
