Routine serum C‐reactive protein and stroke outcome after intravenous thrombolysis
ConclusionsAccording to our findings, elevated routine serum CRP measured within 24 h after admission does not seem to independently affect the outcome in patients receiving intravenous thrombolysis for stroke. However, further studies of blood samples taken directly before the treatment are needed.

Long-term Prognosis of Patients Presenting First-ever Vestibular Symptoms in a Community-based Study
Conclusions: First-ever-in-lifetime VSs are common in patients with FNS and may represent a good opportunity for preventing a serious vascular event, particularly in patients with vascular comorbidity (silent infarctions and VRFs).

Oral health and cardiovascular disease risk factors and mortality of cerebral haemorrhage, cerebral infarction and unspecified stroke in elderly men: A prospective cohort study.
Conclusions: Oral health measured by number of tooth extractions >10 was an independent predictor for cerebral infarction in addition to age, HDL-C, hs-C-reactive protein and diabetes. The pattern of risk factors varied between the specific stroke diagnoses.

Acute ischemic stroke management in Lebanon: obstacles and solutions.

The frequency of alcohol consumption is associated with the stroke mortality
ConclusionsThis study shows a strong association between the frequency of alcohol consumption and stroke mortality, independent of total amount of alcohol consumption. The risk of stroke death was the highest among men who consumed alcohol >2.5 times per week.

Risk factors for incident dementia after stroke and transient ischemic attack.
CONCLUSIONS: Chronic brain changes including WMCs, MTLA, and AD pathology are associated with incident dementia after stroke/TIA. Interventions targeting these chronic brain changes may reduce burden of vascular cognitive impairment.

Glucose in prediabetic and diabetic range and outcome after stroke
ConclusionsPatients with glucose in the prediabetic and diabetic range have an increased risk of unfavourable short‐term outcome after stroke. These findings illustrate the potential impact of early detection and treatment of these patients.
