Direct angiographic intervention for acute ischemic stroke with large vessel occlusion
Conclusion:This new approach may provide benefits for appropriately selected patients. Further prospective trials are needed to clarify the risk-versus-benefit of this approach.Abbreviations and Acronyms: AHA: American Heart AssociationAIS: acute ischemic strokeASA: American Stroke AssociationASPECTS: Alberta Stroke Program Early Computed Tomography ScoreCT: computed tomographyCTA: computed tomography angiographyCTP: computed tomography perfusionDMVO: distal, medium vessel occlusionDSA: digital subtraction angiographyED: Emergency DepartmentEVT: endovascular thrombectomyFD: flat detectorIA: intra-arterialIV: intravenousICH...

Efficacy and safety of normobaric hyperoxia combined with intravenous thrombolysis on acute ischemic stroke patients
This study verified the efficacy and safety of NBO combined with intravenous thrombolysis in AIS patients. Prospective study is needed to further substantiate these findings.PMID:34126868 | DOI:10.1080/01616412.2021.1939234

Obesity in acute ischaemic stroke patients treated with intravenous thrombolysis therapy
Conclusions: Obesity may be related to long-term prognosis of large group of AIS patients treated with IVT. It depends on the scale of clinical study samples, follow-up time, and evaluation criteria.PMID:34112057 | DOI:10.1080/01616412.2021.1939486

Matrix metallopeptidase 9 and placental growth factor may correlate with collateral status based on whole-brain perfusion combined with multiphase computed tomography angiography
DISCUSSION: Serum PGF and MMP-9 levels may correlate with collateral status based on MP-CTA in acute ischemic stroke patients with cerebral large artery atherosclerosis. Higher PGF and MMP-9 concentration associated with good collateral status.PMID:34107864 | DOI:10.1080/01616412.2021.1939238

Long noncoding RNA ANRIL knockdown attenuates neuroinflammation following ischemic stroke via suppressing the expression of NF- κB in vitro and in vivo
CONCLUSION: our results suggest that ANRIL knockdown attenuates neuroinflammation by suppressing the expression of NF-κB both in vitro and vivo model of IS, sugguesting that ANRIL might be a potentially viable therapeutictarget to diminish neuroinflammation in IS patients.PMID:34080525 | DOI:10.1080/01616412.2021.1934317

Effect of rt-PA intravenous thrombolysis on the prognosis of patients with minor ischemic stroke
Conclusion: Patients with MIS received intravenous thrombolysis may be associated with earlier neurological improvement, but might has no significant effect on long-term prognosis. The level of neutrophil ratio and CRP at admission are risk factors determining the prognosis, which requires further research.PMID:33847231 | DOI:10.1080/01616412.2021.1908672
