The Joint Association of Septicemia and Cerebrovascular Diseases with In-Hospital MortalityAmong Patients with Left Ventricular Assist Device in the United States
Currently, about 6.2 million adults in the US are reported to have heart failure, and this prevalence is expected to increase by 46% by 2030.1 The prognosis of advanced heart failure especially, advanced systolic heart failure, has improved tremendously with the advent of implantable mechanical circulatory support devices such as left ventricular assist device (LVAD) which is often used as a bridge to heart transplantation or as a destination therapy.2,3 Indeed, LVAD has improved the 1-year survival of patients with advanced heart disease from 52% to about 85%.

Transcranial magnetic stimulation to assess motor neurophysiology after acute stroke in the United States: Feasibility, lessons learned, and values for future research
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) has been widely applied in both basic and clinical neuroscience since its introduction in 1985. In addition to its potential therapeutic value for exciting or inhibiting neural circuits [1], TMS can be used to investigate corticomotor excitability (CME), which is a key aspect of voluntary movement [2]. For example, single-pulse TMS can elicit electrical signals, which propagate along descending motor pathways and are recorded as motor evoked potentials (MEP) in target muscles.

Health and cognition among adults with and without Traumatic Brain Injury: A matched case-control study
CONCLUSION: Individuals with TBI have greater odds of selected neurobehavioral conditions compared to their demographically similar uninjured peers. Among persons with TBI there was a stronger association between poorer self-rated health and cognition than controls. Guillain-Barre syndrome in Mexico: clinical features and validation of Brighton Collaboration Group criteria
CONCLUSION: GBS is a frequent autoimmune neuropathy that has been associated with preceding infections and with vaccination campaigns. For SARS-CoV-2 vaccination campaign in Mexico, validation of Brighton Criteria is necessary.
