Type 2 diabetes and cardiorenal syndromes. A nationwide French hospital cohort study
CONCLUSION: Patients with T2DM represent almost half of patients with CRS and are younger than their non-diabetic counterparts. T2DM doubles the risk of CRS and increases the risk of death, cardiovascular outcome, and end-stage kidney disease but not ischemic stroke after CRS.PMID:36931430 | DOI:10.1016/j.diabet.2023.101441

Hyperglycemic control in acute ischemic stroke patients undergoing endovascular treatment: post hoc analysis of the Stroke Hyperglycemia Insulin Network Effort trial
Conclusion We did not identify any beneficial effect of intensive glucose reduction on rates of death or favorable outcomes at 90 days among acute ischemic stroke patients undergoing endovascular treatment.

Antithrombotic therapies for neurointerventional surgery: a 2021 French comprehensive national survey
Conclusion This nationwide survey highlights the important heterogeneity in clinical practices across centers. There is a pressing need for trials and guidelines to further evaluate and harmonize antithrombotic regimens in the neurointerventional field.

Psychological impact of COVID-19 containment on CADASIL patients
ConclusionPsychological impact of the containment was limited in CADASIL patients and did not appear related to the disease status. About 9% of patients presented with significant posttraumatic and stressor-related disorder manifestations which were predicted by living alone, unemployment, or exhaustion related to parental burden.

Does aspirin have a place in primary cardiovascular prevention by the polypill  ? Simulation study on a realistic virtual population
CONCLUSION: Until proven otherwise, aspirin has only a limited place in individuals between 35 and 65 years without a cardiovascular history. We showed how simulating therapeutic strategies on a realistic virtual population could be used for best applying available evidence.PMID:36841655 | DOI:10.1016/j.therap.2023.01.011

TICI-RANKIN mismatch: Poor clinical outcome despite complete endovascular reperfusion in the ETIS Registry
CONCLUSION: Despite complete reperfusion after EVT, half of patients had a poor clinical outcome. These patients, who were mainly older with a high initial NIHSS and an unfavorable post-EVT 24h NIHSS change, could represent a target population for early neurorepair and neurorestorative strategies.PMID:36804012 | DOI:10.1016/j.neurol.2022.10.003

Prevalence and Incidence of Cardiovascular and Renal Diseases in Type 1 Compared with Type 2 Diabetes: A Nationwide French Observational Study of Hospitalized Patients
CONCLUSIONS: Although the crude prevalent burden of CV diseases may be lower in T1DM than in T2DM, patients with T1DM may have a higher risk of incident MI, HF, all-cause death and CV death above 60 years of age, highlighting the need for improved prevention in this population.PMID:36736892 | DOI:10.1016/j.diabet.2023.101429
