Molecular and pathological characterization of natural co-infection of poultry farms with the recently emerged Leucocytozoon caulleryi and chicken anemia virus in Egypt
AbstractIn the summers of 2018 and 2019, a disease outbreak stroke 25 broiler chicken farms and 3 broiler breeder farms in different Governorates in Egypt. The disease caused a mortality rate ranging from 3.2 to 9%. Postmortem examination showed petechial hemorrhage in the breast and thigh muscles, thymus gland, and peritoneal cavity and extensive hemorrhages in the kidneys. A pilot study of the ticagrelor role in ischemic stroke secondary prevention
Conclusion: Ticagrelor was noninferior to aspirin regarding safety profile. Safety and Efficacy of Pharmaco-invasive Approach Using Streptokinase Compared With Primary Percutaneous Coronary Angiography

Circulating lncRNAs HIF1A-AS2 and LINLK-A: Role and Relation to Hypoxia-Inducible Factor-1 α in Cerebral Stroke Patients

Clinical and Radiological Characteristics of Acute Cerebrovascular Diseases Among Egyptian Patients With COVID-19 in Upper Egypt
Conclusion: Acute CVD among patients with COVID-19 was common in our study. LVO was the commonest. Hypertension, IHD, and anemia are the most common risk factors and could contribute to the worsening of clinical presentation. Comorbidities were common among patients with CVD, although a large number had elevated liver enzymes and creatinine that were partially due to COVID-19 infection itself. The current results begin to characterize the spectrum of CVD associated with COVID-19 in patients in Upper Egypt.Registration ID: The ID number of this study is IRB no: 17300470.

Using ESN-Smartphone Application to Maximize AIS Reperfusion Therapy in Alexandria Stroke Network: A Stroke Chain of Survival Organizational Model
Conclusion: Our pilot experience demonstrated that the use of the ESN-app expedited the stroke treatment workflow and facilitated tele-connection between registered stroke facilities. Urban Versus Rural Egypt: Stroke Risk Factors and Clinical Profile: Cross-Sectional Observational Study
Background: Egypt is a densely populated country with living habits and health care services that differ from urban to rural regions. We aimed to study how characteristics of stroke vary among these regions. Methods: This is a cross-sectional observational study of ischemic stroke, thus hemorrhagic and venous strokes were excluded. Early post-stroke seizures in a sample of Egyptian patients with first-ever stroke
Conclusion: The incidence of early post-stroke seizures was high in our study and was positively associated with a poor functional outcome, a higher in-hospital mortality rate and a longer duration of in-hospital stay. Safety and efficacy of transcatheter left atrial appendage closure using the Watchman device in Egyptian patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation
Conclusion LAA closure with the Watchman device can be safely performed, and may be a reasonable alternative to consider for patients at high risk for stroke but with contraindications to systemic oral anticoagulation or with high risk of bleeding.

Prevalence of Ischemic and Hemorrhagic Strokes in Qena Governorate, Egypt: Community-based Study
Conclusions: The overall prevalence rate of stroke is nearly the same as in other Egyptian governorates and is higher than other Arabic countries.
