This study aimed to compare the characteristics of patients with AIs with those of patients with adrenal tumors detected during HT screening. We retrospectively analyzed patients referred to our division for detailed examination of adrenal tumors between April 2009 and April 2017. When the purposes of imaging tests included HT screening, we defined adrenal tumors as HT associated, otherwise as strictly defined AIs. We reviewed data on age, sex, purpose and modality of imaging, location of tumor, tumor diameter, and hormonal evaluation. We identified 104 patients with HT-associated adrenal tumors and 413 with AIs. Patients ...

Authors: Choi JH, Noh JR, Kim YH, Kim JH, Kang EJ, Choi DH, Choi JH, An JP, Oh WK, Lee CH Abstract Obesity is a medical condition in which excess body fat has accumulated to a serious extent. It is a chronic disease that can lead to dyslipidemia, insulin resistance, and type 2 diabetes. In the present study, we investigated the anti-obesity effects of Sicyos angulatus (SA) extract on a high-fat diet (HFD)-induced C57BL/6J obese mice. The mice were divided into vehicle and three SA groups (25, 50, and 100 mg/kg body weight). The mice were fed a HFD with or without SA for 12 weeks. The oral administration of SA reduc...
In this study, we assessed the relationship between the circadian rhythm of urinary sodium excretion and hypertension. Urinary samples were collected during both the day (07:00 to 22:00) and night (22:00 to 07:00) to estimate night/day urinary sodium excretion ratios. Blood pressure (BP) and clinical data were also measured. A total of 1,099 Chinese CKD patients were recruited, 308 patients were excluded, and 791 patients were final enrolled in this study. Among them, 291 patients were normotensive and 500 were hypertensive CKD patients. A 1:1 propensity score matching (PSM) analysis was performed with age and estimated gl...
