ConclusionsIn the context of cryptogenic strokes ILRs are a valuable tool for early detection of AF. In a real-world scenario, the anticoagulation therapy remains inadequate despite diagnosed AF in a relevant subset of patients requiring optimization of patient management.Graphical abstract

Clinical Course and Recurrence in Transient Global Amnesia: A Study From the TEMPiS Telestroke Network
CONCLUSIONS: Arterial hypertension is prevalent in TGA patients, with elevated blood pressure being the most-frequent concomitant condition. In our cohort, recurrence of TGA occurred in approximately one-fifth of patients. Anticoagulant Treatment Adherence and Persistence in German Patients with Atrial Fibrillation
ConclusionsPatients with AF receiving edoxaban had significantly higher adherence and persistence compared with those receiving VKAs. This trend was also seen in NOAC QD regimens vs. NOAC BID regimens for adherence. These results provide insight into how adherence and persistence may contribute to the effectiveness of edoxaban for stroke prevention in patients with AF in Germany.

Safety and effectiveness of rivaroxaban for prevention of stroke in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation: analysis of routine clinical data from four countries
CONCLUSIONS: Incidences of intracranial bleeding were generally lower with rivaroxaban than with SOC, whereas incidences of gastrointestinal and urogenital bleeding were generally higher. Prevalence of peripheral arterial disease, abdominal aortic aneurysm, and risk factors in the Hamburg City Health Study: A Cross-Sectional Analysis
CONCLUSION: In this large population-based cohort study of 10,000 subjects from Hamburg, Germany, a strikingly high prevalence of PAD was revealed. Almost 45% suffered from any index disease, while AAA was only diagnosed in 1.3% of males and 0.2% of females. Vitamin-K-antagonist phenprocoumon versus direct oral anticoagulants in patients with atrial fibrillation: a real-world analysis of German claims data
Conclusions The small superiority or non-inferiority of DOACs over warfarin seen in the RCTs might not translate into relevant advantages of DOACs over phenprocoumon. To confirm the hypothesis, an RCT with phenprocoumon is needed. Next to the safety and effectiveness assessments other factors might also play a substantial role in the decision on the right OAC for stroke prevention.
