E-164 Symptomatic developmental venous anomaly thrombosis associated with covid-19 infection
We describe a milder case of DVA thrombosis in the setting of COVID-19 infection presenting with unilateral hemiparesis requiring medical management alone. A 41-year-old female with hypertension who presented with left hemiparesis. Non-contrast computed tomography (CT) of head revealed linear calcifications in the right centrum semiovale consistent with DVA. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed an acute ischemic stroke in the right corona radiata adjacent to the vascular abnormality. Incidental Finding of Arteria Lusoria in COVID-19 Patient with Aortic Thrombus Complicated by Recurrent Limb Ischemia
We report the case of a 64-year-old woman with recent severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 pneumonia who was admitted to the hospital due to a giant floating thrombus in the ascending aorta with multiple ischemic events. Ischaemic stroke due to basilar artery occlusion in a puerperal patient with SARS-CoV-2 infection
CONCLUSION: Severe SARS-CoV-2 disease results in a prothrombotic state that correlates with the prognosis of the disease. The last trimester of pregnancy and the puerperium are known prothrombotic risk factors. Recommendations for anticoagulation management in pregnant patients with COVID-19 are based on limited evidence. Concurrent Cerebral, Splenic, and Renal Infarction in a Patient With COVID-19 Infection
Conclusion: In this case, a patient with multiple thrombotic events in the acute phase of COVID-19 infection, the delimitation of the inflammatory state through analytical markers as D-dimer helped to individualize the antithrombotic treatment (full anticoagulation or anticoagulation at intermediate doses plus antiplatelet treatment as used in our patient) and its duration. However, more data are needed to better understand the mechanisms and treatment of stroke in patients with COVID-19 infection.
