Role of Balloon-Expandable Stents in Intracranial Atherosclerotic Disease in a Series of 182 Patients Brief Reports
Conclusions— Treatment of intracranial atherosclerotic disease with balloon-expandable intracranial stents is a safe and effective method with acceptable adverse events, especially in patients who failed medical therapy and were symptomatic despite being on optimum medical therapy.

E-004 Focal intracranial vasculopathy as a manifestation of COVID-19-associated acute ischemic stroke
ConclusionTo our knowledge, our case is the first to illustrate the potential for COVID-19 infection to present as a focal intracranial vasculopathy in an otherwise healthy young-patient, resulting in acute ischemic stroke without an underlying hypercoagulable state. Rescue intracranial stenting was necessary to maintain vessel patency and restore intracranial flow.Disclosures A. Mahapatra: None. A. Witek: None. G. Toth: None.

E-031 Treatment of Acute Ischemic Stroke Due to Thrombosis of Stenotic Atherosclerotic Lesions of the Posterior Circulation
Conclusion Endovascular treatment can be performed with high rates of technical success for AIS due to thrombosis at chronic atherosclerotic lesions. In spite of potential for poor outcomes, significant recovery of function is possible following treatment. Further evaluation is warranted to identify those patients most likely to respond to such intervention. Disclosures M. Alexander: None. J. Rebhun: None. S. Optimizing endovascular stroke therapy: A primary PCI deja‐vu?
Key Points The optimal revascularization modality (thromboembolectomy, suction thrombectomy, angioplasty with stenting, and stent retriever thrombectomy) for the cerebral circulation remains to be defined Catheter‐based therapy of the acute stroke yields better clinical outcomes in patients <65‐year‐old, with a door‐to‐balloon time <4 hr and successful reperfusion TICI ≥ 2. Considering the significant incidence of acute strokes which are either ineligible for intravenous thrombolytic therapy or present too late, catheter‐based therapies may offer an alternative treatment option. Interventional card...

Endovascular treatment for AIS with underlying ICAD
Conclusions Despite AIS with underlying ICAD requiring a more complex, technically demanding recanalization strategy than traditional thromboembolic AIS, it appears safe, and good outcomes are obtainable.

COVID-19 and Stroke: Casual or Causal Role?
We present a case of stroke in a 62-year-old COVID-19-positive patient, with multiple vascular risk factors. The patient arrived 1 h after onset of symptoms, was treated with recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (rtPA) with improvement of neurologic deficits, and later developed right foot arterial ischemia (recanalized by balloon catheter angioplasty) and left arm superficial venous thrombosis. A control computed tomography (CT) scan 7 days after onset showed hemorrhagic transformation of ischemic lesion without mass effect. However, respiratory and neurologic conditions improved so that the patient was discharged to ...

E-055 Internal carotid artery reconstruction with flow diverting stents in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke: technical considerations and medical management
ConclusionsFDS appear to be a safe and effective tool for reconstruction of a symptomatic dissection in tortuous cervical ICAs. Their flexibility allows conformation to complex anatomies and they can be traversed multiple times by aspiration catheters/stentrievers. We found excellent patency at follow up. The unique challenges posed by utilization of high-profile stents in acute stroke require appropriate technical execution and medical management.Disclosures E. Orru: None. F. Bounni: None. M. A Case of Transient Global Amnesia: A Review and How It May Shed Further Insight into the Neurobiology of Delusions
Conclusion In closing, our patient’s episode of TGA combined with her emotional and perceptual response lends credence to the proposal of a “fear/paranoia” circuit in the genesis of paranoid delusions—a circuit incorporating amygdala, frontal, and parietal cortices. Here, neutral or irrelevant stimuli, thoughts, and percepts come to engender fear and anxiety, while dysfunction in frontoparietal circuitry engenders inappropriate social predictions and maladaptive inferences about the intentions of others.[54] Hippocampus relays information about contextual information based on past experiences and the current situat...

Endovascular Treatment of Thrombosis and Embolism.
Authors: Goktay AY, Senturk C Abstract Deep venous thrombosis (DVT) is a common disorder with a significant mortality rate. Successful endovascular treatment of acute DVT is most likely to be achieved in patients with recently formed thrombus, (<10-14 days) with acute iliofemoral DVT. Endovascular treatment options include: Catheter-directed thrombolysis (CDT), pharmacomechanical catheter-directed thrombolysis (PCDT), percutaneous aspiration thrombectomy (PAT), vena cava filter protection, venous balloon dilatation and venous stent implantation. Current practice shows strong clinical tendency for the use of PCDT...

Reappraisal of primary balloon angioplasty without stenting for patients with symptomatic middle cerebral artery stenosis.
We describe our experience with primary balloon angioplasty without stenting for symptomatic middle cerebral artery (MCA) stenosis. All patients who underwent balloon angioplasty without stenting for MCA stenosis between 1996 and 2010 were retrospectively reviewed. We evaluated technical success rates, degrees of stenosis, and stroke or death within 30 days. Among patients who were followed-up for > 1 year we evaluated latest functional outcomes, stroke recurrence at 1 year, and restenosis. In total 45/47 patients (95.7%) were successfully treated. Average pre- and postprocedure stenosis rates were 79.9% and 39.5%, resp...

Potential for the Use of the Solitaire Stent for Recanalization of Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion without a Susceptibility Vessel Sign INTERVENTIONAL
CONCLUSIONS: The Solitaire stent is a feasible tool as the first-line device for multimodal endovascular recanalization therapy in acute ischemic stroke with a negative MCA susceptibility vessel sign. It has a good rate of successful and complete recanalization and is a fast yet safe procedure.

Characteristic and prognosis of acute large vessel occlusion in anterior and posterior circulation after endovascular treatment: the ANGEL registry real world experience
AbstractThere were limited studies comparing the anterior (AC) and posterior (PC) circulation acute ischemic strokes (AIS). Our study aimed to evaluate distinct features of AC and PC strokes regarding clinical, vascular risk, pathogenesis and outcome factors after endovascular procedures. This multicenter prospective study registered 873 patients with acute large occlusion of anterior circulation stroke (ACS) and posterior circulation stroke (PCS). Patients who underwent endovascular procedures were included in this study. The differences in ACS and PCS regarding baseline characteristics, post-operative intracranial hemorr...
