Efficacy and safety of direct aspiration versus stent-retriever for recanalization in acute cerebral infarction: A PRISMA-compliant systematic review and meta-analysis
Conclusions:
The results support that the direct aspiration technique for those acute ischemic stroke patients may have better functional outcomes, less procedure related-adverse events and a tendency of faster revascularization time as compared to the stent-retriever thrombectomy, with a similar successful recanalization rate. However, major limitations of current evidence (mainly from retrospective and observational studies and a small number of patients population) indicate a need for adequately powered, multicenter randomized controlled trials (RCT) to answer this question.

Remote ischemic post-conditioning promotes hematoma resolution via AMPK-dependent immune regulation
Spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) produces the highest acute mortality and worst outcomes of all stroke subtypes. Hematoma volume is an independent determinant of ICH patient outcomes, making clot resolution a primary goal of clinical management. Herein, remote-limb ischemic post-conditioning (RIC), the repetitive inflation–deflation of a blood pressure cuff on a limb, accelerated hematoma resolution and improved neurological outcomes after ICH in mice. Effect of Variation in Published Stroke Rates on the Net Clinical Benefit of Anticoagulation for Atrial Fibrillation.
Conclusion: Variation in published AF stroke rates for patients not receiving anticoagulant therapy results in multifold variation in the net clinical benefit of anticoagulation. Guidelines should better reflect the uncertainty in current thresholds of stroke risk score for recommending anticoagulation.

Risk of incident atrial fibrillation after a prior critical illness: A retrospective cohort study.
CONCLUSIONS: Our study explored incident AF among patients with critical illness in their medical history. Patients with septicemia/septic shock were at the highest risk of developing new-onset AF among these critically ill patients.

Conclusion:
Anticoagulant treatment with heparin is safe and beneficial for patients with CVT, even for those accompanied with hemorrhagic stroke. Besides, LMWH is better than UFH in the management of CVT.

Epidemiology, risk factors and characteristics of pediatric stroke: a nationwide population-based study
Conclusions and implicationsInfants younger than 2 years, boys and children in lower socioeconomic status have a significantly higher risk of stroke. Hemorrhagic stroke has a significantly higher mortality rate than ischemic stroke. More than half of the children with stroke had underlying diseases and the causes of hemorrhagic stroke are signifi cantly different from ischemic stroke.

Statins in adult patients with HIV: Protocol for a systematic review and network meta-analysis
Conclusion:
Ethics approval was not required for this study because it was based on published studies. The results and findings of this study will be submitted and published in a scientific peer-reviewed journal. The evidence will determine which combination of interventions are most promising for current practice and further investigation.

Over-the-counter analgesic powder use in patients presenting with intracerebral hemorrhage: A case series
Conclusions:
Over-the-counter analgesic powders containing high doses of aspirin including BC Powder and Goody's Powder may contribute to ICH in patients with no or minimal risk factors. Providers should inquire about the use of these powders in ICH patients particularly among African Americans.
