Lumbrokinase regulates endoplasmic reticulum stress to improve neurological deficits in ischemic stroke
In this study, we aimed to clarify the neuroprotection of lumbrokinase in mice subjected to permanent middle cerebral artery occlusion. Lumbrokinase significantly attenuated infarct volume and improved neurological dysfunction. Lumbrokinase dramatically decreased the expressions of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) transmembrane receptor protein inositol-requiring enzyme-1 (IRE1) and its downstream transcription factor, XBP-1, caspase-12, and NF-κB activity, thereby significantly inhibiting apoptosis and autophagy and decreasing the NLRP3 inflammasome. Ischemic stroke and intracranial hemorrhage in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation for COVID-19: A systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: Ischemic stroke and ICH were common under the double "hit" of COVID-19 and ECMO. The prevalence of ICH was significantly higher in COVID-19 patients supported with ECMO than non-COVID-19 patients requiring ECMO. Individualized anticoagulation regimens may be a good choice to balance thrombosis and bleeding. Intracerebral hemorrhage markers on non-contrast computed tomography as predictors of the dynamic spot sign on CT perfusion and associations with hematoma expansion and outcome
ConclusionHeterogeneous density and swirl sign are associated with the dynamic spot sign. The dynamic spot sign is a stronger predictor than NCCT hematoma markers of significant hematoma expansion. A co-located spot sign and hypodensity predicts in-hospital mortality.

Which is responsible for aphasia by subcortical lesions? Subcortical lesions or the cortical hypoperfusion?
This study showed that aphasia to be more common in cases with cortical hypoperfusion in the dominant hemisphere than in cases without hypoperfusion. ConclusionsFDS appear to be a safe and effective tool for reconstruction of a symptomatic dissection in tortuous cervical ICAs. Their flexibility allows conformation to complex anatomies and they can be traversed multiple times by aspiration catheters/stentrievers. We found excellent patency at follow up. Outcomes of endovascular thrombectomy in patients selected by computed tomography perfusion imaging - a matched cohort study comparing nonagenarians to younger patients
Conclusions Nonagenarians were noted to have greater mortality and sICH rates following EVT compared with matched younger patients, which may be ameliorated by selecting patients with smaller CTP core volumes. Nonagenarians undergoing EVT had similar rates of successful reperfusion and functional independence compared with the younger cohort.
