Determinants and Outcomes of Stroke Following Percutaneous Coronary Intervention by Indication Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— Hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke complications are uncommon, but serious complications can occur after PCI and are independently associated with worse mortality and major adverse cardiovascular events outcomes in both the elective and acute coronary syndrome setting irrespective of stroke type. Our study provides a better understanding of the risk factors and prognosis of stroke after PCI by procedure type, allowing physicians to provide more informed advice around stroke risk after PCI and counsel patients and their families around outcomes if such neurological complications occur.

Acute Reperfusion Therapy and Stroke Care in Asia After Successful Endovascular Trials Understanding and Applying the Endovascular Trials
The current status of and prospects for acute stroke care in Asia in the situation where both intravenous thrombolysis and endovascular therapies have been recognized as established strategies for acute stroke are reviewed. Of 15 million people annually having stroke worldwide, 9 million are Asians. The burdens of both ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes are severe in Asia. The unique features of stroke in Asia include susceptibility to intracranial atherosclerosis, high prevalence of intracerebral hemorrhage, effects of dietary and lifestyle habits, and several disorders with genetic causes. These features affect acute strok...

Endovascular Thrombectomy for Anterior Circulation Stroke: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— ET improves good outcomes after anterior circulation stroke. ET should be strongly considered for all patients presenting within 6 hours of onset with a stroke affecting a proximal, anterior circulation vessel without a contraindication to ET.

Subarachnoid Hemorrhage in a Multimodal Approach Heavily Weighted Toward Mechanical Thrombectomy With Solitaire Stent in Acute Stroke Original Contributions
Conclusions— SAH on post-therapeutic computerized tomography scans were not uncommon after primary mechanical thrombectomy with a Solitaire stent, but they seemed to be benign. Rescue angioplasty and unidentified, small vessel ruptures due to mechanical stretch during stent retrieval might give rise to these lesions.

Elective treatment of intracranial stenosis with the balloon-expandable Pharos Vitesse stent: 30-day stroke rate and complications
Conclusions In patients with intracranial stenosis who experience recurrent ischemic events despite best medical treatment, ICAS, using the balloon-expandable Pharos Vitesse stent, may still be considered as an individual treatment option in high-volume neurovascular centers.

Trends in Endovascular Therapy and Clinical Outcomes Within the Nationwide Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Registry Clinical Sciences
Conclusion— The use of endovascular therapy increased modestly nationally from 2003 to 2012 and decreased in 2013. Clinical outcomes improved notably from 2010 to 2013, coincident with more experience and newer thrombectomy devices.

Predictors of parenchymal hemorrhage after endovascular treatment in acute ischemic stroke: data from ANGEL-ACT Registry
Conclusions In Chinese patients with AIS caused by anterior circulation LVO, the risk of PH was positively associated with low admission ASPECTS, serum glucose >7 mmol/L, and NLR, but negatively related to underlying ICAS and intracranial angioplasty/stenting. Trial registration number NCT03370939.

Proximal Internal Carotid artery Acute Stroke Secondary to tandem Occlusions (PICASSO) international survey
Conclusions The PICASSO survey demonstrates multiple areas of uncertainty regarding the medical and endovascular management of TOs. Experts acknowledged the need for further evidence and their willingness to participate in a randomized controlled trial to evaluate the best treatment for the cervical TO lesion.

Efficacy and Limitations of Multimodal Endovascular Revascularization Other Than Clot Retrieval for Acute Stroke Caused by Large-vessel Occlusion
Conclusions: Multimodal EVT for acute LVO yields a high reperfusion rate with a minimal risk of sICH and contributes to favorable patient outcomes. These techniques should be considered when clot retrieval is unsuitable or ineffective.

Stroke in the TOTAL trial: a randomized trial of routine thrombectomy vs. percutaneous coronary intervention alone in ST elevation myocardial infarction
Conclusion Thrombectomy was associated with a significant increase in stroke. Based on these findings, future trials must carefully collect stroke to determine safety in addition to efficacy.

Stroke After Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in Patients With ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction: Timing, Characteristics, and Clinical Outcomes Coronary Artery Disease
Conclusions— Stroke is an infrequent complication in the setting of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction treated with primary PCI but is associated with increased morbidity and mortality. Studies to determine mechanisms that may be responsible for strokes that occur >48 hours from primary PCI are warranted. Clinical Trial Registration— URL: http://www.clinicaltrials.gov. Unique identifier: NCT00091637.

Stroke following percutaneous coronary intervention: type-specific incidence, outcomes and determinants seen by the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society 2007-12
Conclusions Incident ischaemic stroke complications have increased over time, whilst haemorrhagic stroke complications have decreased, driven through changes in clinical, procedural, drug-treatment, and demographic factors. Both ischaemic and haemorrhagic strokes are rare but devastating complications with high 30-day mortality and in-hospital MACE rates.

Endovascular Treatment and the Outcomes of Atherosclerotic Intracranial Stenosis in Patients With Hyperacute Stroke
CONCLUSION: Emergent intracranial angioplasty with or without stenting is safe and feasible and yields a high rate of revascularization and favorable outcome in patients with hyperacute stroke and underlying ICAS. Patients with underlying ICAS have less severe infarctions at presentation and higher successful revascularization after multimodal endovascular therapy in the setting of hyperacute stroke compared with those with other stroke subtypes. Glycoprotein IIb-IIIa inhibitors for acute ischaemic stroke.
CONCLUSIONS: The available trial evidence showed that, for individuals with acute ischaemic stroke, GP IIb-IIIa inhibitors are associated with a significant risk of intracranial haemorrhage with no evidence of any reduction in death or disability in survivors. These data do not support their routine use in clinical practice. The conclusion is driven by trials of Abciximab, which contributed 89% of the total number of study participants considered.
