Direct angioplasty for acute ischemic stroke due to intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis-related large vessel occlusion.
CONCLUSION: Direct angioplasty may represent an alternative treatment strategy in patients with acute ischemic stroke due to known ICAS-related LVO. PMID: 32777960 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

The Dilator-Dotter Technique: A Modified Method of Rapid Internal Carotid Artery Revascularization in Acute Ischemic Stroke INTERVENTIONAL
CONCLUSIONS: The dilator-Dotter technique may be a safe and effective modification of the traditional Dotter technique in allowing rapid ICA recanalization in cases of acute ischemic stroke due to tandem occlusions.

Efficacy and Safety of a Novel Thrombectomy Device in Patients With Acute Ischemic Stroke: A Randomized Controlled Trial
Conclusion: The trial indicated that the Tonbridge stent was non-inferior to the Solitaire FR within 6 h of symptom onset in cases of large vessel occlusion stroke.Clinical Trial Registration:ClinicalTrials.gov, number: NCT03210623.

P90 Intracranial balloon-expandable stents as rescue treatment in acute stroke secondary to atherosclerotic stenotic vessel disease: 10-year single center experience
ConclusionsEmergency application of dual antiplatelet agents and balloon-expandable stents for treatment of acute stroke secondary to intracranial atherosclerotic stenotic disease exhibits a comparably high rate of early reocclusion and low rate of good clinical outcome.ReferencesStracke CP, Fiehler J, Meyer L, et al. Endovascular treatment of acute ischemic stroke with a fully radiopaque retriever: A randomized controlled trial
ConclusionThe Neurohawk retriever is non-inferior to the Solitaire FR in the mechanical thrombectomy of large vessel occlusion-acute ischemic stroke (LVO-AIS). The sub-analysis suggested that endovascular treatment including thrombectomy with the retriever and essential rescue angioplasty is effective and safe in AIS patients with intracranial atherosclerotic disease-larger vessel occlusion (ICAD-LVO).Clinical trial registrationhttps://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04995757, number: NCT04995757.

E-061 Glycoprotein inhibitors as a standalone post-thrombectomy rescue treatment for intracranial atherosclerotic disease-related stroke: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionThese findings highlight the potential value of GPIs as a viable first line therapy for EVT rescue therapy in the setting of ICAD. This study was limited by the nature of the literature, which were non-randomized observational studies. Randomized controlled trials are needed to validate and refine our understanding of the role of GPIs in the management of refractory or re-occlusive ICAD stroke.Disclosures A. Brake: None. C.
