IntroductionRescue stenting is used more and more in stroke cases with large-vessel-occlusion or medium-vessel-occlusion refractory to mechanical thrombectomy. ConclusionsMMD is presented most commonly with ischemic stroke in the pediatric age group and with hemorrhagic stroke in the adult age group. MMD-associated intracranial aneurysms frequently occur in patients presenting with hemorrhagic unilateral MMD and are associated with an extremely high rate of rupture. Interfacility transfer for mechanical thrombectomy – Direct to neuroangiography or CT angiography first?
Faster time to mechanical thrombectomy (MT) improves outcome in stroke. In patients from other hospitals where a CT has ruled-out hemorrhage, transfer direct-to-angiography (DTA) may reduce door-to-groin time compared to transfer to CT angiography (CTA)+/ −repeat CT first.
