People discuss online the impact of health conditions on their lives. Comparing ‘posts’ across diseases may provide an initial understanding of comparative disease burden on quality of life (QOL). For 8 of the most prevalent conditions in the USA (ischemic heart disease [IHD], low back pain, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease [COPD], diabetes mellitus [DM], lung cancer, stroke, depression, migraine), we identified the number of posts focused on QOL, examined the main topics/words used with the QOL term, and explored the proportion of posts with “positive” and “negative” sentiments.

Impact of Comorbidities on Lung Cancer Screening Evaluation
CONCLUSION: Patient and procedure-level factors may alter the benefits of lung cancer screening. Data concerning individual risk factors and high-risk complications should therefore be incorporated into diagnostic algorithms to optimize clinical benefit and minimize harm. Effects of Smoking on Long-Term Clinical Outcomes and Lung Cancer in Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction
CONCLUSIONS: In contrast to the unadjusted model, smoking is associated with worse cardiovascular outcome and higher incidence of lung cancer after adjustment of various confounding factors.
