Impact of genetic variants on clinical outcome after percutaneous coronary intervention in elderly patients
In conclusion, poor metabolizers of CYP2C19 and TT groups of P2Y12 G52T may be significant predictors of poor clinical outcomes in elderly patients.PMID:33707344 | DOI:10.18632/aging.202799

Triflusal in Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome and Acetylsalicylic Acid Hypersensitivity
Conclusion: In this series of patients presenting with ACS and ASA hypersensitivity, triflusal showed good tolerability and was associated with a low rate of CV and bleeding events.Cardiology

Safety and efficacy of low-dose ticagrelor in Chinese patients with acute coronary syndrome undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention
Platelets. 2021 Apr 4:1-8. doi: 10.1080/09537104.2021.1909717. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIt remains unclear whether low-dose ticagrelor offers better safety and similar efficacy for Asian patients with acute coronary syndromes (ACS). We aimed to compare the safety and effectiveness of low-dose ticagrelor vs standard-dose ticagrelor in Chinese patients with ACS undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). In this observational cohort study, a total of 2110 ACS patients who were event-free at 3 months after the index PCI were divided into standard-dose ticagrelor (90 mg twice daily) (n = 1830) or low-dose ticagre...

Academic Research Consortium for High Bleeding Risk Definitions for Early, Late, and Very Late Bleeding Events
CONCLUSIONS: The ARC-HBR definition consistently identified patients at risk of long-term bleeding and ischemic events after second-generation DES implantation.PMID:33853992 | DOI:10.1253/circj.CJ-21-0120

Efficacy and Safety of Ticagrelor Versus Prasugrel in Women and Men with Acute Coronary Syndrome: A Pre-specified, Sex-Specific Analysis of the ISAR-REACT 5 Trial
CONCLUSIONS: Although there was no significant interaction between sex and treatment effect of study drugs, the superior efficacy of prasugrel was more evident among men. No difference in bleeding between the two study groups was seen for both women and men.PMID:33867409 | DOI:10.5551/jat.62776

Ischemic/bleeding event after short dual-antiplatelet therapy in patients with high bleeding risk: Sub-analysis of the MODEL U-SES study
CONCLUSION: In contemporary PCI practice, nearly half of patients had HBR and presence of HBR significantly increased risk of ischemic/thrombotic events. Both aspirin and P2Y12 inhibitor monotherapy following short DAPT had low and comparable ischemic/bleeding events.PMID:33875313 | DOI:10.1016/j.jjcc.2021.03.015
