Cerebellar Stroke and Leptomeningeal Carcinomatosis following Cement Leakage into the Vertebral Artery during Cervical Vertebroplasty
This report describes an unusual vertebral artery cement embolization during C3 transpedicular vertebroplasty performed under computed tomography (CT) guidance and fluoroscopy. The Institutional Review Board approved this case report, and the patient ’s consent for publication was obtained. Elevated CA125 is Related to Stroke Due to Cancer- Associated Hypercoagulation
It is well-known that cancer patients commonly have ischemic stroke and the incidence is getting increased with the development of cancer therapy prolonging survival.1 Ischemic stroke in cancer patients is caused by various etiologies. Cancer-associated hypercoagulation is one of the major important pathophysiological mechanisms of stroke in cancer patients.2,3 This hypercoagulation is mediated by multiple mechanisms associated with tissue factor, mucin, and cysteine proteinase. Carcinomatous mucins are considered to trigger thrombogenicity by interacting with P and L selectins and inducing the formation of platelet-rich microthrombi.

Perioperative outcomes of goal-directed versus conventional fluid therapy in radical cystectomy with enhanced recovery protocol
ConclusionStroke volume variation guided goal-directed fluid therapy is safe in radical cystectomy without compromising the renal function. It is associated with less intra- and perioperative fluid infusion; however, no association with hospital stay, 90-day complication or readmission rates were noted.

Late vascular complications after cranial radiotherapy: A report of two illustrative cases
We present two cases of late neurological complications after CRT and briefly discuss its diagnosis and their shared pathophysiological aspects. The first case is a patient with cognitive impairment associated to mineralizing microangiopathy ten years after CRT for nasopharyngeal carcinoma and the second one is a woman with Stroke-like Migraine Attacks after Radiation Therapy (SMART) syndrome two years after CRT for anaplastic meningioma. Nowadays, higher survival rates might cause an increase in appearance of late neurological complications after CTR. These reported cases show that late complications can mimic a wide vari...

MRA showed left middle cerebral artery occlusion, and he was diagnosed with acute ischemic stroke and treated with intravenous recombinant tissue plasminogen activator and endovascular thrombectomy. The pathological diagnosis of the retrieved thrombus was consistent with the already-known pathological findings of the primary renal cell carcinoma. Therefore, a diagnosis of cerebral embolism caused by tumor cell...
