Substantial involvement of TRPM7 inhibition in the therapeutic effect of Ophiocordyceps sinensis on pulmonary hypertension
Transl Res. 2021 Mar 7:S1931-5244(21)00054-2. doi: 10.1016/j.trsl.2021.03.004. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTOphiocordyceps sinensis (OCS), an entomopathogenic fungus, is known to exert anti-proliferative and anti-tissue remodeling effects. Vascular remodeling and vasoconstriction play critical roles in the development of pulmonary hypertension (PH). The therapeutic potential of OCS for PH was investigated using rodent PH models, and cultured pulmonary artery endothelial and smooth muscle cells (PAECs and PASMCs), with a focus on the involvement of TRPM7. OCS ameliorated the development of PH, right ventricular hypertrophy...

Endoglin deficiency impairs VEGFR2 but not FGFR1 or TIE2 activation and alters VEGF-mediated cellular responses in human primary endothelial cells
In conclusion, ENG deficiency alters the VEGF/VEGFR2 pathway, which may play a role in HHT pathogenesis.PMID:33894400 | DOI:10.1016/j.trsl.2021.04.005

PLAC1 Regulates the Occurrence of Fetal Growth Restriction by Inhibiting the Apoptosis of Trophoblast Cells
CONCLUSION: The expression of PLAC1 was reduced in fetal growth restriction and did not protect trophoblast cells from hypoxic damage, suggesting that PLAC1 may be an important regulator in the occurrence of fetal growth restriction.PMID:33941557
