SOX-17 is involved in invasion and apoptosis of colorectal cancer cells through regulating miR-302b-3p expression
This study was conducted to explore the regulatory effect of SOX-17 on the expression of miR-302b-3p, and the involvement of SOX-17 in the invasion and apoptosis of CRC cells. The expression of SOX-17 and miR-302a,b,c,d-3p in colorectal cancer and normal colon epithelial cell lines was measured by real-time PCR and/or Western blot. The regulatory effects of SOX-17 on miR-302b-3p gene in HT29 and LoVo cells were tested using ChiP assay. The biological activities of SOX-17 and miR-302b-3p were evaluated by invasion and apoptosis assay. Results showed that transfection of SOX-17 siRNA (siSOX-17) significantly increased, where...

Fat mass and obesity-associated protein regulates lipogenesis via m6 A modification in fatty acid synthase mRNA.
This study provides novel insights into a unique RNA epigenetic mechanism by which FTO mediates hepatic lipid accumulation through m6 A modification and indicates that FTO could be a potential target for obesity-related diseases and cancer. PSPH induces cell autophagy and promotes cell proliferation and invasion in the hepatocellular carcinoma cell line Huh7 via the AMPK/mTOR/ULK1 signaling pathway.
In conclusion, PSPH could induce autophagy, promote proliferation and invasion, and inhibit apoptosis in HCC cell via the AMPK/mTOR/ULK1 signaling pathway. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. PMID: 33079432 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Long noncoding RNA ERICD interacts with ARID3A via E2F1 and regulates migration and proliferation of osteosarcoma cells.
Abstract Long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) dysregulation is known to be taking part in majority of cancers, including osteosarcoma. In one of our previous studies, we showed that lncRNA MEG3 is being regulated by microRNA-664a (miR-664a) suppresses the migratory potential of osteosarcoma cells (U-2OS). We now report a novel lncRNA, namely, ERICD, which is linked to the transcription factor AT-rich interaction domain 3A (ARID3A) in U-2OS cells. We show that ARID3A binds to ERICD and indirectly interacts with each other via the E2F transcription factor 1 (E2F1). Furthermore, small interfering RNA (siRNA)-mediated knockdow...

DAP1 negatively regulates autophagy induced by cardamonin in SKOV3 cells.
This study aimed to investigate whether it is relevant for DAP1 in proliferation inhibition and autophagy induced by cardamonin in tumor cells. Using online bioinformatics tools, we found that DAP1 expression is closely related to the survival of patients with ovarian cancer. Our study showed that autophagy induced by cardamonin was associated with mTOR inhibition, and DAP1 was involved in this process. Silence of DAP1 decreased cell proliferation but enhanced antiproliferative effect of cardamonin in SKOV3 cells. The level of autophagy was elevated by DAP1 silencing in SKOV3 cells. Notably, cardamonin showed higher autoph...
