RNF152 Suppresses Fatty Acid Oxidation and Metastasis of Lung Adenocarcinoma by Inhibiting IRAK1-Mediated AKR1B10 Expression
This study aimed to identify the role of ring finger protein 152 (RNF152) in LUAD. RNF152 was down-regulated in LUAD, and low RNF152 expression correlated with a poor prognosis in LUAD patients. RNF152 overexpression inhibited the proliferation and malignant phenotype of LUAD cells, whereas RNF152 knockdown exerted an opposite effect. Tumor cells overexpressing RNF152 showed less fatty acid oxidation compared with control cells, whereas RNF152 knockdown induced fatty acid uptake and oxidation. Further analysis revealed the binding reaction between RNF152 and interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase 1 (IRAK1). RNF152 reduce...

Effect of Yifei Qinghua Granule on the Tumor Microenvironment in Lung Cancer by Regulating the Inflammatory Pathway
Cell Mol Biol (Noisy-le-grand). 2023 Aug 31;69(8):118-124. doi: 10.14715/cmb/2023.69.8.18.ABSTRACTTo investigate the mechanism of action of inflammatory molecules regulating the tumor microenvironment and anti-tumor through Yifei Qinghua granules and phloroglucinol-containing serum intervening in the changes of tumor microenvironment in vitro in the co-culture of lung cancer cells and bone marrow cells. A549 lung adenocarcinoma cell line and ST2 bone marrow stromal cell line were selected and a transwell chamber was used to establish the co-culture system of the two kinds of cells. They were divided into normal saline, phl...

Prognosis of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) in stage I colorectal adenocarcinoma and development of a prediction model: a retrospective study based on the SEER database
CONCLUSION: Elevated CEA is a risk factor for stage I CCA, but not for MUC. And the nomogram is accurate enough to predict the risk and prognostic factors of CCA.PMID:37715832 | DOI:10.1007/s00432-023-05410-w

Multi-omics profiling reveals cellular pathways and functions regulated by ALDH1B1 in colon cancer cells
Chem Biol Interact. 2023 Sep 14:110714. doi: 10.1016/j.cbi.2023.110714. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTColon cancer is the third leading cause of cancer death globally. Although early screenings and advances in treatments have reduced mortality since 1970, identification of novel targets for therapeutic intervention is needed to address tumor heterogeneity and recurrence. Previous work identified aldehyde dehydrogenase 1B1 (ALDH1B1) as a critical factor in colon tumorigenesis. To investigate further, we utilized a human colon adenocarcinoma cell line (SW480) in which the ALDH1B1 protein expression has been knocked down by 8...

Cancer cell-intrinsic PD-1: Its role in malignant progression and immunotherapy
Biomed Pharmacother. 2023 Sep 14;167:115514. doi: 10.1016/j.biopha.2023.115514. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTProgrammed cell death protein-1 (PD-1), also called CD279, is coded by the PDCD1 gene and is constitutively expressed on the surface of immune cells. As a receptor and immune checkpoint, PD-1 can bind to programmed death ligand-1/programmed death ligand-2 (PD-L1/PD-L2) in tumor cells, leading to tumor immune evasion. Anti-PD-1 and anti-PD-L1 are important components in tumor immune therapy. PD-1 is also expressed as an intrinsic variant (iPD-1) in cancer cells where it plays important roles in malignant progression...

The prognostic and immunological role of FKBP1A in an integrated muti-omics cancers analysis, especially  lung cancer
CONCLUSION: In conclusion, FKBP1A exhibits differential expression in cancer, serves as a prognostic indicator, undergoes genetic alterations, and influences the tumor-immune microenvironment. These findings shed light on the multifaceted role of FKBP1A in cancer development and progression, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic target and guidance of clinical drugs selection, and provide valuable insights into patient prognosis for interventions based on pharmaceuticals.PMID:37715833 | DOI:10.1007/s00432-023-05362-1
