Factors associated with poor sleep quality in patients with pre-dialysis chronic kidney disease: A systematic review
CONCLUSION: Poor sleep quality was prevalent and influenced kidney function, increased mortality as well as decreased quality of life in patients with pre-dialysis chronic kidney disease. This review synthesizes factors associated with poor sleep quality. Managing these factors can mitigate and prevent poor sleep quality.IMPACT: Healthcare providers, especially nurses, can assess the risk factors of poor sleep quality and reinforce patients' self-management. Future research should elucidate the assessment and management of risk factors and transfer these into widespread use in the routine care of patients with chronic kidn...

Using a case-based approach for this presentation, learners will self-report the ability to prognosticate patients with kidney disease and integrate basic tenets of palliative nephrology into their practice2. Using a case-based approach and legal case examples, learners will self-report the ability to analyze ethical issues commonly encountered caring for patients with kidney disease and employ best practice recommendationsThe option to forego dialytic therapy is an important life event —but studies have shown that up to 95% of patients with advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD) have not had the opportunity t...

Comparison of puncture methods in patients with hemodialysis: A randomized controlled trial
CONCLUSION: Hemodialysis patients who received the rope ladder puncture technique had a lower percutaneous angioplasty rate and better quality of life than patients who received the area puncture technique, suggesting that the rope ladder technique could be implemented as a routine cannulation method in hemodialysis clinics.PMID:36726291 | DOI:10.1111/sdi.13142
