The aim of this study was to determine the usefulness of both subjective and objective criteria in the appropriate management of MNO, either alone or associated to upper airway inflammatory diseases such as allergic rhinitis (AR) or chronic rhino sinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP).Recent FindingsA long debate persists about the usefulness of subjective and objective methods for making decisions on the management of patients with nasal obstruction. Sensitization to nut allergens in children with food allergy and other atopic diseases - just a coexistence?
CONCLUSIONS: The analysis of sensitization patterns may help to identify patients with an increased risk, and gives the opportunity to introduce more effective prophylaxis. However, since even the first exposure to nuts may be sufficient to trigger the anaphylaxis, this risk should be considered as a serious issue at any age.PMID:37545822 | PMC:PMC10399669 | DOI:10.5114/ada.2023.128991
