Allergies, antibiotics use, and multiple sclerosis.
CONCLUSIONS: The findings supported allergy as a protective factor for MS development. We also suggest antibiotics use might be not a suitable indicator of bacterial infection to investigate the cause of MS. PMID: 28454489 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Single and multiple food allergies in infants with proctocolitis.
CONCLUSIONS: There is no difference in clinical presentations between infants with single and multiple food allergies. However, infants with multiple food allergies have a high blood total eosinophil count and are more likely to have a positive skin prick test and/or positive specific IgE results. IJERPH, Vol. 15, Pages 1965: Seasonal Allergies and Psychiatric Disorders in the United States
tickley Seasonal allergies have been associated with mental health problems, though the evidence is still emergent, particularly in the United States. We analyzed data from the National Comorbidity Survey Replication and the National Latino and Asian American Survey (years 2001–2003). Multivariable logistic regression models were used to examine the relations between lifetime allergies and lifetime psychiatric disorders (each disorder in a separate model), adjusting for socio-demographic variables (including region of residence) and tobacco use. Different Psychosocial Factors Are Associated with Seasonal and Perennial Allergies in Adults: Cross-Sectional Results of the KORA FF4 Study
Conclusion: The results support the relevance of psychosocial factors in association with allergies. Looking at the psychosocial factors, a separate consideration of seasonal and perennial allergies seems reasonable. Further longitudinal studies should investigate the direction of the associations, the underlying mechanisms, and other psychosocial factors, such as coping mechanisms, in confirmed allergies.Int Arch Allergy Immunol

Nasopharyngeal microbial profiles associated with the risk of airway allergies in early childhood
CONCLUSIONS: The composition of the nasopharyngeal microbiota alteration may have an influence on childhood respiratory allergies. The inverse association between bacterial richness and allergies postulated that children living in a microbially hygienic environment may increase their risk of developing respiratory allergies.PMID:35288032 | DOI:10.1016/j.jmii.2022.01.006
