Voices for Vaccines: 11 Facts Show How it’s a Propaganda Ploy for Emory University, CDC, and Big Pharma
Conclusion The Voices for Vaccines program at the Task Force for Global Health may be administered by a few mothers, but they are not the ones pulling the strings behind the scenes. The information in this article reveals who keeps the lights on for the website and the Task Force organization as a whole. Furthermore, the past, present and future relationships with the Centers for Disease Control, Emory University, and pharmaceutical companies should immediately raise a red flag for any parent. Especially when the message calls for you to blindly trust doctors injecting dangerous chemicals into your child. If you want to ta...

Barriers and facilitators to HPV vaccination of young women in high-income countries: a qualitative systematic review and evidence synthesis
Conclusions: Barriers to the uptake of the HPV vaccine have implications for young women's future sexual, physical and reproductive health. Interventions to address barriers to uptake of the vaccine should target appropriate, and multiple, levels of the socio-ecological model. Issues of trust require clear, accessible, and sometimes culturally appropriate, information about the HPV vaccination programme. Although young women are central to the HPV vaccination programme, their views are underrepresented in the qualitative literature. Future research should consider young women's perceptions of, and involvement in, consent and decision-making.

Human Papillomavirus Type Distribution in Invasive Cervical Cancers From Madhya Pradesh: Implications for Vaccination Programs in Central India
Invasive cervical carcinoma (ICC) remains a leading cause of female mortality in India. There is a paucity of data about human papillomavirus (HPV) type distribution among ICCs from Central India. Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded ICC specimens (n=270 patients) from Madhya Pradesh state were screened for HPV by GP5+/6+ primer-based polymerase chain reaction followed by cycle sequencing and NCBI BLAST search. HPV was detected in 93.3% of the tumors. Thirteen types were detected: HPV16 (73.7%), HPV18 (11.9%), HPV45 (2.2%), HPV66 (1.5%), HPV35 (1.1%), and HPV56 (0.7%). HPV31, 51, 58, 59, 67, 82 and JEB2 were each seen in 1 ca...

Human papillomavirus and vaccine-related perceptions among men who have sex with men: a systematic review
Conclusions Despite several misconceptions and poor knowledge of HPV infection, MSM might be receptive to HPV vaccination. However, further research is needed to identify which factors contribute to potential vaccine uptake in hypothetical MSM-targeted HPV vaccination. Future studies need to target those MSM with little sexual experience, who would benefit most from HPV vaccination.

Cell‐mediated immune response: a clinical review of the therapeutic potential of human papillomavirus vaccination
ConclusionsProphylactic HPV vaccines have been introduced to reduce the incidence of cervical cancer in young women. Women already infected with HPV could benefit from a therapeutic HPV vaccination. Hence, it is important to continue the development of therapeutic HPV vaccines to lower the rate of HPV‐associated malignancies and crucial to evaluate vaccine efficacy clinically. This clinical review represents an attempt to elucidate the theories supporting the development of an HPV vaccine with a therapeutic effect on human papillomavirus‐induced malignancies of the cervix.

HPVdb: a data mining system for knowledge discovery in human papillomavirus with applications in T cell immunology and vaccinology
High-risk human papillomaviruses (HPVs) are the causes of many cancers, including cervical, anal, vulvar, vaginal, penile and oropharyngeal. To facilitate diagnosis, prognosis and characterization of these cancers, it is necessary to make full use of the immunological data on HPV available through publications, technical reports and databases. These data vary in granularity, quality and complexity. The extraction of knowledge from the vast amount of immunological data using data mining techniques remains a challenging task. To support integration of data and knowledge in virology and vaccinology, we developed a framework c...

A Comprehensive Review of Dysregulated miRNAs Involved in Cervical Cancer.
Authors: Sharma G, Dua P, Agarwal SM Abstract MicroRNAs(miRNAs) have become the center of interest in oncology. In recent years, various studies have demonstrated that miRNAs regulate gene expression by influencing important regulatory genes and thus are responsible for causing cervical cancer. Cervical cancer being the third most diagnosed cancer among the females worldwide, is the fourth leading cause of cancer related mortality. Prophylactic human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines and new HPV screening tests, combined with traditional Pap test screening have greatly reduced cervical cancer. Yet, thousands of women c...

Methodological and ethical issues in research using social media: a metamethod of Human Papillomavirus vaccine studies
Conclusions: The metamethod exposed missed opportunities for using the dialogical character of social media as well as a lack of attention to the unique ethical issues inherent in operating in a virtual community where social boundaries and issues of public and private are ambiguous. This suggests the need for more self-conscious and ethical research practices when using social media as a data source. Given the relative newness of virtual communities, researchers and ethics review boards must work together to develop expertise in evaluating the design of studies undertaken with virtual communities. We recommend that the pr...

Specific genotypes of human papillomavirus in 125 high-grade squamous lesions and invasive cervical cancer cases from Congolese women
Conclusion: Our study showed that HPV 16, 33, 18 and 31 were the four most common genotypes in women with HSIL and ICC. These findings indicate that current vaccines against HPV could help to reduce the burden of cervical cancer in Congo.

Assessing cost-effectiveness of HPV vaccines with decision analytic models: what are the distinct challenges of low- and middle-income countries? A protocol for a systematic review
Discussion The proposed systematic review will assess how the cost-effectiveness studies of HPV vaccines accounted for the distinct challenges of LMICs. The gaps identified will expose areas for additional research as well as challenges that need to be accounted for in future modelling studies. Systematic review registration PROSPERO CRD42015017870.

An appraisal of theoretical approaches to examining behaviours in relation to Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination of young women
Conclusion : Due to diverse approaches and inconsistent findings across studies, the current contribution of theory to understanding and promoting HPV vaccination uptake is difficult to assess. Ecological frameworks encourage the integration of individual and social approaches by encouraging exploration of the intrapersonal, interpersonal, organisational, community and policy levels when examining public health issues. Given the small number of studies using such approach, combined with the importance of these factors in predicting behaviour, more research in this area is warranted.

HPV Vaccine Public Awareness Campaigns: An Environmental Scan
Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination rates are significantly lower than recommended targets. Public awareness campaigns can raise awareness of the severity and prevalence of HPV infection and the cancer prevention benefits of the vaccine. We conducted an environmental scan of HPV vaccine public awareness campaigns during the summer of 2014. We used online search strategies and expert input to identify candidate campaigns. Multiple study investigators reviewed all data abstraction and analysis. After applying our inclusion criteria, we identified 14 campaigns with parents or teenagers as the target audience. We characteri...

An evidence‐based review of the rectovaginal examination during well‐woman visits
ConclusionsAvailable literature shows the RVE to have low sensitivity in detecting uterosacral nodularity, rectal compression, cervical involvement of endometrial cancer, and colorectal cancer. Implications for practiceThis critical review of available literature found no evidence to support the use of the RVE in well‐woman visits. NPs should limit the use of the RVE to patients presenting with rectovaginal or pelvic complaints.
